I am thinking of driving to Vegas on New Years Day... thought that since I'd be maybe going against traffic it'd be ok but I wanted some feedback since I don't really know. I'd be leaving early like around 7am.

I know that there is a lot of Anti-Americanism in Europe (and everywhere else) and I would like to hear from Americans living there or Germans who live there, if Americans are welcome?

I know that in Germany there are a lot of American military bases. What is their reputation?

My husband managed somehow to get next week off of work... we have a 2 1/2 year old, and another one on the way. We are hoping to have our first romantic get-away since before our son was born since we have the chance; however, we (like most 1 working parent homes) don't have an abundance of money.

We've never been to Vegas, but always wanted to go. We don't need anything fancy, just a clean comfy place to lay our heads for a couple days, that's close enough to the fun (and the airport - we're flying from California) to not need a rental car.

Any suggestions would be gratefully appreciated -- it's been years since we've been alone together, and we're kind of clueless about what to do.

I want to make the most of my weekend off in Ireland. Good history and scenery are important. Also, what's good to eat in Ireland if you aren't into seafood?

Okay, so I've decided that I'm going to make a move in the next few years to Canada or New Zealand. I'm embarrassed to live in the U.S. anymore, although I do live in one of the best cities (SF). Anyway - to get to my question...if I have a child in New Zealand do they automatically become NZ citizens? I know in Austrailia the kid has to be 10 before getting citizenship. I went to the immigration website and I couldn't find anything...Are you a U.S citizen living in NZ and what has your experience been like?

I was married to a beautiful Filipina on 3 Oct 2007 she is the other half of my heart....on 7 Oct I was forced to return to the United States to care for my dying sister. I was not able to bring my new wife with me. I am very romantic. I have written about our special love in my newspaper column ( http://hughs-kojak.blogspot.com/ ) I want to keep our love fresh and alive during these stressful times. I can express myself in English and my wife is very bright and reads English well but I would like to express my love in her language. I am learning Visayan and Tagalog but it is not easy for me. Her family dies laughing when I try to pronounce " NG ". My writting ability is not much better.

Can you guys help me express my love for this beautiful Filipina and keep the romance alive?

could you explain why? a lot of people seem to consider it to be in central Europe, while it has quite clearly an orientation towards the north, opening itself on the north sea and Baltic seas... central Europe would be much more central in a N/S opposition as much as E/W, such as Austria or Hungary.
