I'm going to Amsterdam over Christmas 22nd dec to 26th dec. Anyone know about museum/shop openings etc? Also anyone know of any events being held around this time that maybe worth going to? Cheers

If a museum is closed one day in the year it is Christmas day. Many are also closed the 26th of December.
Check each museum on its own website.

Here is a link for a website that gives many of the museums:
http://www.amsterdam.info/museums/

The entries I checked all had opening times and days that they are closed, and links to the home page, which more often than not is also available in English.

Shops will also be closed on 25-12 and some will be open on 26-12, but many might still be closed.

Restaurants are often closed 24 to 26-12, but those that are open are mostly booked solid, weeks in advance.
Make reservations as soon as you can, at least check 23-12 where you can get dinner the next couple of days.

But to end positive, the town will be lovely with many lights all along the canals at night.

So no great public events occurring. yet there is nutrition and dope everywhere in the time of Christmas, employer as common, so as to no longer difficulty approximately that! New year's Eve is whilst the events are occurring, in particular after middle of the night. appreciate!
