Travel - 14 June 2007

My friend and i would like to visit an asian destination in Feb 2008. However, i'm unsure if the New Year festivities will hike travel costs up. If i'm not wrong, next year's new yr is scheduled on 7th Feb.

Staying one night in Rome for connecting flight.
I wanted to book hotel by airport but it seems they are bit pricey. I was reading previous suggestions to book a hotel by train station and take a train to/from airport.
Any suggestions...which hotel to book? What can I visit in 1 afternoon?

I am going on a Costa Cruise and it stops in Egypt. I know I need a VISA to get into Egypt but was told I could get it when I arrive there. I've been accepted to go to England for a camp, however they will not buy the tickets for me unless I give them proof that I have a valid passport. Unfortunately, the passport I have expires midway through the camp dates, so I need to renew. Also I am UNDER 18, and the last time I got a passport I was under 16 so that means I HAVE TO GO IN PERSON.

There has got to be an easier way. This trip is next month, so I don't have enough time to do it just anywhere and it is not close enough to the trip to get the expedite for those traveling in under 14 day. Besides the people that are sponsoring this trip are NOT going to buy the tickets until I have a passport so I can't even use plane tickets as proof of travel.

How is this supposed to work. The lines for the place to get the passport are ridiculous. They were all down the block unless you were able to get an appointment (which I can't do since my dates of travel don't make the 14 day or less limit.)

How is a minor supposed to get one?
