Staying one night in Rome for connecting flight.
I wanted to book hotel by airport but it seems they are bit pricey. I was reading previous suggestions to book a hotel by train station and take a train to/from airport.
Any suggestions...which hotel to book? What can I visit in 1 afternoon?
I was thinking it would be nice to see St. Peter's square.

For a one-nighter right beside Termini station and the Metro, try this hotel: http://www.hotelgioberti.it/dovesiamo.aspx

Pity that you have just one night - Rome is fabulous.

Its been quite awhile but as I remember it the Airport is a long way from down town Rome. There are so many great things to see and great meals to eat in Rome that I am sure you will have a wonderful day. One of my favorite meals was at Alfredo's. The originator of Fettuchini Alfredo. They make it right at your table and it is really great! The Vatican is really amazing as well. But.... it sure brings out the Pirate in me. There were so many treasures. I just wanted to loot the place. Thats a compliment of sorts!
