I need some help...I want to buy my husband a snowboard for his birthday but I don't know what size to buy and obviously I don't want to ask him and ruin the surprise...He is about 5'7 or 5'8 and weighs about 220lbs. Which size should I buy? I've heard I should probably get him a 158cm. Is that correct?

Obviously everyone has a different opinion, but could you say what you think is the hardest, or name some of the hardest?
I just want to know because I want to know what slopes to eventually aim for, and if I've done any that would be considered in this category!!!
Thanks!

back flip or front flip. backflips take longer to certify for competitions because you have to learn a back lay first but people say that back flips are easier on snow. i want to be original and do front flips, over rotation doing a front would be pretty bad, but under rotation on a back wouldnt end well either. im not sure which one i should certify, i only have next summer to learn it on trampoline and do water ramps so front flip might be my only option. is it really more dangerous?

ok, so season passes at my local ski resort is 400 for the whole SEASON....wich is tomarrow untill April 3rd usually....I just bought all new snoboard stuff, wich costed ME over 1200 dollers, and today at thanksgiving lunch my mother says ""If you think i'm buying you a season pass think again"" When i used to ski she would buy the pass for me, but now that i snoboard, and she dosent, she still ski's she won't buy it for me? i think it's retarded....haha. srry i just feel like bitching..

And i'm not spoiled....i pay for everything, all i ask is for one pass, perhaps for my xmas gift, and she still wont...

"no that's not what i want to buy you for Christmas"
talk about being a *****. i'm like crying now. i love the hill, and i really want to go tomarrow :P and i'm not paying 40 for a one day pass...that just even more retarded

I'm going to Reno with a group of two or three thirty-something couples in March 08. Our goal is extreme convenience for skiiing (ski-in/out) with nice gambling options for nightlife. (onsite or close via cab).

I know nothing about Reno, so please advise as to hotel/condo options that may suit our needs. (We'd opt for a 2 or 3 bedroom condo if it fits the above requirements.)

Thanks so much!

Richard

I need to know what size I would be. I'm 5'3 and 120 lbs. Is a 58 too long? I've been up several times and am pretty comfortable on a board, but am tired of renting. Also, what's a good board for me in either Burton or K2? Or are there others? PLEASE help. Thanks!

I have big feet (12) so I am looking at something wide (is that reasonable? should i be worried about toe and heel drag?) and I'm about 5' 11" but i wasn't sure what length would be 'best'. 160-166? (which is easist for learners/beginers, i lost rode 2 years ago then i grew out of my board, so i need to relearn...)

These are some of the brands i was looking at:
DUB
Lamar
M3
Flow
Silence
Avalanche
Head
LTD
Marrow
Stroke
Which is the best quality? or the best deal? (favorites?)

This is my first board that i am buying so i need to get an idea of what is good and what is 'OK'.

I would appreciate any input that would help give me any idea of what i should be looking for. Is there anything that i should watch out for?

What controles the camber of the board? is it a trivial feature or does it matter if a board had more or less?
