Yeah have been skiing and I'm sorry I'm not sure if you want advice for people who don't ski or people who don't ski and are skiing? ??

Other ideas are snowtubing..its basically this big doughnut shaped tube that you lounge on, and go down the hill on. Check that ski area and find out if they have one, some resorts in Lake Tahoe here in the U.S. do, and they're really fun. Snow shoeing looks ok too, walking in the snow with them, yeah.

Skiing, ask for poles that way you can use it to help push and pull you up or down. Start out on the easier slopes, untill you feel comfortable at your pace and the run you can move on to another one, and gradually go up. Take your own time it's not a race for beginners; there are lots zoomin down that hill but I'm sure you'll have more fun if you're safe.
If you're doing downhill or alpine skiing, wear cotton clothes, and wear warmer clothes as you're going down the hill and its very cold.
If you're doing crosscountry skiing, wear light clothes, (no black), no downhill ski pants or jacket; there are special jackets and pants used for this. A turtleneck or long sleeved would do. Because you are using lots of energy while doing crosscountry and later you'll feel all hot.
Downhill:
Ski parralel or in zig zags.. aka move in zigzags down the mountain, left to right to left to right to left.
Pizza stop: the front edge of both of your skis face toward each other (looks like this: / \
but Don't touch them..you might trip)
The closer your feet are the faster you go (meaning..the more straight they are instead of in a Stop position), if you are a beginner then keep yourself in a stopped position..not too much but keep them at a direction that leads you to a steady pace.
Crosscountry:
Pretty much easy, just stay on the easier trails and stay on the engraved parts of the trail, easier for beginners or if you want a little challenge you can ski on the plain track as well.
Both:
Bend your knees, back straight, arms forward, head up (and down..look at the ground to make sure you're not going on anything), and have a smile on your face :)

Have fun skiing..its really awesome, hope this helps =)

come on now! Don't torture the guy. The worst thing in the world is to have to sit in the lodge while everyone else is having fun. And remember, He won't be sitting in the lodge alone. It seems that there are always pretty ladies that don't want a full day of sking that are just dying to hang out with a toddy and talk.
Consider a warm beach with cool drinks and a balmy breeze. You both will have fun and its always cool to show up in the middle of winter with a tan!!!
