and WHY?

keep in mind
in tennis your running around for more than 90-120 minutes and you don't have a team to back you up!
- in soccer, you've gotta be more creative

The problem is, my friend who I play tennis with is cocky about himself and its annoying. He makes little comments and most times I dont know if he knows he's being arrogant, he doesn't understand how to respect players and the game.
We've played about 20 games, and he has won about 14 of them. He won the last 2 games and keeps mentioning how "great them games were" and the "excellent rallies we had" and he is also in a happy positive mood during the game. But what really annoys me is that when he is losing, he's in a bad mood and doesnt mention the game. As for me, losing or not, I contain how I feel and dont always say "YES" all the time. The really sad thing is I dont think he knows why people find him annoying.
So finally, we're 17, I'm 6" and he is smaller at 5"5, we'ave a similar style of play, playing from baseline. We're both quite consistant but I think he has more of it than me, he likes doing drop shots now and again. Do you have and tips to beat him?
Thanks for reading.

In your opinion, which of these 2 matches was the most important for Steffi?.

1988 US Open Final : Steffi Graf d. Gabriela Sabatini- Steffi became a legend, beating Sabatini to capture the calendar year "Grand Slam", all 4 Major's in 1 calendar year. Steffi won the 1st set 6-3, but Sabatini started hitting her shots. Gaby took the 2nd set 6-3, forcing a 3rd set. In the 3rd, Steffi easily blew Sabatini away 6-1 for the win. At the 1988 Olympics, Steffi disposed of Sabatini again, winning a Gold Medal and capturing the "Golden Slam".

1991 Wimbledon Final : Steffi Graf d. G. Sabatini : This win saved Steffi's year. At the time, Sabatini had a 5 match win streak over Steffi. Sabatini served twice for the title, but couldn't finish Steffi off. Instead, Steffi finished off Sabatini 6-4,3-6,8-6. A critical win, as Steffi ended her losing streak to Sabatini, and an 18 month Grand Slam winless drought.

Compare these 2 matches, and decide which was the most important win for Steffi?.

Should I cut back on the pads I wear to tennis matches? The shoulder pads are fine, but my helmet and chain mail are cumbersome.

Mine would have to be Tommy Haas vs. James Blake at the U.S. Open, then Andy Roddick vs. Justin Gimelstob at the U.S. Open.

I don't know who to pick because the field will be so tough. The field includes Henin, Davenport, Ivanovic, Serena W., Venus. W., Jankovic, Sharapova, Mauresmo, Dementieva, Kuznetsova, Golovin, and Vaidisova.

All I know is that I cannot pick Henin to win. Maybe Maria, Venus, or Lindsay.

I play avg. 5 days a week. I'm really into the game. Right now I'm using the Babolat Pure Drive, and I love it. But if I want something with more power, what do you suggest.

very fit, but I recently saw him on TV playing those Sampras Exhibition matches in Asia, and he almost looks skinny. Has he been dieting or something? He's 6' 1" and looks like he's 165 #, he normally was like 175-180 for years. Anyone else notice this?

If Player A hits the ball (over the net) and the Player B returns the ball without allowing it to bounce on his/her side who gets the point, or would they play continue? Who would get the point (or would the play continue) if the Player A hits the ball and it passes over the net but would have landed out of bounds if Player B returns it?
