Should I cut back on the pads I wear to tennis matches? The shoulder pads are fine, but my helmet and chain mail are cumbersome.

I generally stay away from the chain mail, and stick with the good old suit of armor. It feels more natural.
I also make sure to have my heaviest set of steel boots with two-inch spikes on the outsolse. Keeps my footwork solid.

Yes, cut back on the pads and chain mail. Just wear a cup, like a baseball catcher in case your opponents like to bounce balls off of you when you are at the net.

That's the funniest thing I've ever read.. I'm sure you'd do okay without chain mail, Kevlar vests do me just fine.

A good supporter and cup come in handy when you get hit in the jewels.

You only need a cold, steel plated cup, one that occasionally pinches your skin.
