1988 US Open Final : Steffi Graf d. Gabriela Sabatini- Steffi became a legend, beating Sabatini to capture the calendar year "Grand Slam", all 4 Major's in 1 calendar year. Steffi won the 1st set 6-3, but Sabatini started hitting her shots. Gaby took the 2nd set 6-3, forcing a 3rd set. In the 3rd, Steffi easily blew Sabatini away 6-1 for the win. At the 1988 Olympics, Steffi disposed of Sabatini again, winning a Gold Medal and capturing the "Golden Slam".
1991 Wimbledon Final : Steffi Graf d. G. Sabatini : This win saved Steffi's year. At the time, Sabatini had a 5 match win streak over Steffi. Sabatini served twice for the title, but couldn't finish Steffi off. Instead, Steffi finished off Sabatini 6-4,3-6,8-6. A critical win, as Steffi ended her losing streak to Sabatini, and an 18 month Grand Slam winless drought.

I would say the first time she defeated Martina Navratilova. That was the changing of the guard.

The most important match for Steffi is the one with Andre. These others don't mean much in the long run, and she probably doesn't think of them very often if at all.
