B.O.D.M.A.S. stands for Brackets ,Order , Division , Multiplacation , Addition , Subtraction.
They are like this because in a sum this is the order you would do the sum in.

I learned it as BOMDAS, being

Brackets
Of { as for example 'two-fifths of thirty-five }
Multiply
Divide
Add
Subtract

Brackets have the highest priority here, 'of' 'multiply' and 'divide' all have equal priority, and 'add' and 'subtract have equal (and lowest) priority.
