Are the williams sisters strong enough to compete against men tennis players?

Riggs was an old man when he played King and she was in her prime. Top notch women could not beat top notch men. And I am a woman in case you are wondering. But I can beat my husband and lots of other men - cause I'm better than they are.

As many of you probably know, Billie Jean King defeated Bobby Riggs in an exhibition match a number of years ago. In the 70's I think. What many don't know is that he defeated Margaret Court, the top ranked female player of that era rather easily before he played Billie Jean. At the time, Bobby Riggs was well past his prime, in his 50's I believe. You can look these matches up. In his youth Bobby Riggs was a very good player, although small in stature.

No. Female tennis players could not beat male tennis players. Now i am sure that if the number 200 male played the number one female, she would probably win. But if Federer played Henin, Federer would dominate. The Williams sisters could not beat a top 10 male player. Woman just are not as strong as man players. Men are taller, and stronger. This gives them an advantage. As for the Bobby Riggs question, I doubt he ever played a woman in a real tennis match. Maybe a fun match but not in a tournament.

The speed of the men's game is too fast. The top women servers (williams sisters) top out there serve at about 128 mph whereas the top men hit >145 mph. This also carries over to ground strokes where the men hit much faster and with more spin, making the shot much "heavier." The top women have great technique, but that's not enough to combat the power of men's tennis.
