Hi. I m a novice swimmer & have just learned basic swimming. My freestyle stroke is pretty smooth & I can breathe while swimming. I want to swim to the deep end of the pool but am really scared. Any help/ advice would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I usually swim 3kms, not 5kms, but I do it sometimes. I've been trying after the 3kms to try and swim butterfly, but I jsut can't. Last week I was able to do 50 meters, but I was so out of breath, I got more tired swimming those 50 meters than the 3 kms before that.

Why is it so hard for me?
