Don't think of whether you would be laughed or not, but I would suggest you not to wear it. You wrote that you are not a real good swimmer from which I can understand that you at least know how to swim. SO try to learn more and try to be a good swimmer, not necessary to be an expert. If you are comfortable with these floatation swimsuits, you will never try to learn more. The more we are uncomfortable, the more we try to learn until we are comfortable.

Even I'm taking my lessons. You know still I'm not comfortable with my breathing technique and either I choke or just swim with one breathe. But I practice more.

it's nothing to be embrassed if you can't swim lots of people can't. i'm 15 and i can't ice-skate but i still go to the rink once in a while. sure the kids stare sometimes but hey who cares?

but you have to be aware that their targets audience are kids, most likely they won't make it adult size. if they do then sure you can get it. if not you can ask in your pool they usually have floats and life jackets for pool users or you may want to buy your own float if you want to learn swimming since most swim instructors require them if you are a beginner. register in adult swimming lessons the instructors will teach you the basic strokes in shallow water. that'll help you be comfortable in water.

Have fun swimming =)
