When I do a turn in the lap pool, I get water in my nose and then choke. Is this something I have to work on or should I be using a nose clip?

I don't know about the nose clip, but they do wear ear plugs. It helps to prevent an ear infection.

Either way- ((( Is this something I have to work on or should I be using a nose clip?)))

My cousin is in a pro swimming league and he and his friends wear both, either, or none.

Almost all pro swimmers wear ear plugs so they don't have to worry about getting ear infections. Many DO wear nose clips because their nose is sensitive and can't turn right w/o it.

If you keep working on your turns by blowing out of your nose and don't suceed, then use nose clips--- so you don't have to worry about it when you're swimming.

Hey--- wearing nose clips and ear plugs may not look "cool" but at least you're not choking and getting ear infections!!!!

Hope this helps...

No. I swim for my college and have rarely seen any type of ear plugs and have never seen any nose plugs. In fact, instead of using nose plugs, some of my friends have tried using those breathing strips to keep their noses open while they swim. It proved pretty effective in helping you breathe quicker during breaststroke. The only times I have ever seen ear plugs being used was when somebody had an ear infection. Real high level swimmers will not need noseplugs or earplugs. One swimmer friend on another college team developed a severe sinus infection, but still would not wear noseplugs because they interfered with his normal breathing patterns.

No. Pro swimmers never wear nose clips or ear plugs. They get in the way. Ear plugs fall out with force on them and the nose clip restricts their breathing which is sort of needed.

No, professional swimmers don't wear nose clips, I'm not even sure that they wear ear plugs. When you do a flip turn your supposed to blow air out your nose, so you won't choke on the water.

The nose clips are really to be used during synchronized swimming - when the swimmers have their bodies submerged and their legs up out of the water.
The ear plugs are good and actually reccommended by doctors for people who have infection problems...

Absolutely not.
blow air out on flip turns through your nose, and dry ears completely after swimming. If you swim everyday I would advise to make a mixture of 1/2 rubbing alcohol and 1/2 vinegar and put these drops in your ears every other practice for a few minutes. The alcohol helps dry it out and the vinegar kills the bacteria. I am a swim coach and a doctor told me about the drops.

No that's so no longer genuine. I truly have the two my tongue and my nostril pierced and that i've got been with an identical guy for 6 years. we've been fortuitously married for 3 years, and we've a 2 twelve months previous son mutually. Whoever suggested that, is a liar and is making a sterio sort advice, that's a organic fantasy.
