well last year i missed divisionals in swim team to go to peru for 15 days on a missions trip. this year i have practiced 2 times a week in swimming all year around. i am getting better and i am at the bottom of my age group, i just turned 13, and i will swim against huge people, but i hope to get better during the summer. i dont have much time to make up my mind, and once i go one way, i want to go the other. i really enjoyed peru, but i am afraid i will be sad if i go down there because i want to be here swimming. i know if i want to be safe from being sad i should stay, but i also want to see everybody and have fun down there. please help me decide!

I love to swim and I want to continue taking swimming lessons in the summer to learn diving, the problem is, when I dive, my top slips up. I really don't want to get a one piece, cause that means i have to spend more money on a bikini. Is there any kind of bikini that wont like slip up when I dive?

Some friends say how hard their sports practice is. They say they have to lift, and do suicides (the thing where you run back and forth), and run, etc.
Listenin to what they say, I think its nothing compared to swim practice. We swim several miles each practice, and do sprints throught. It feels really bad, and I have thrown up before in practice becuase I got so tired. Many of the coaches don't give a s**t listening to how bad you feel.
This is not to say that other sports than swimming are easy! I just think that to swim well, you have to go through much more suffering.

I am in the 5th day of my atkins diet and I have only lost 4.4 pounds. Does this sound about right? I thought you were supposed to lose weight rapidly on this diet. Has anyone else tried it and if so, how much weight did you lose and how long did it take?

Having recently finished my open water certification I am looking into purchasing my own gear. The dive shop by my house isnt very helpful and just try to sell me one of the 500 dollar bc's on the shelf.my questions are, what are the items absolutely not to skimp on?I was planning to go middle of the road on everything, but should I get a top of the line bc or regulator?I can see everything costing around 800 to 1000 dollars,is that a fair estimate for decent gear.I plan to dive about 10 times this year.thanks for any help
