Why isn't Grant Hackett performing so well at the World Championships?

Can he pull off a gold medal performance?

There may be a number of factors, such as preparation, health, age etc. He's an absolute champion and I will be watching him race and cheering him on with every stroke.

I dont think he's doing that badly but i guess he's getting older so that could slow him down. Also, I think he's not training as hard now on the shorter distance events and is focusing on the 1500m a bit more.
