It won't make you any taller than you were meant to be. But it sure will make you stronger and have better endurance. VERY good exercise.

Swimming definitely builds endurance and strength. Try swimming a little more each day or time you go to the pool. You'll notice a big difference. It may take a lot of time to build it but it helps. As far as growing taller that all in the genes, not swimming sorry.

Your body will become stronger and more durable but the effects will be universal in terms of your own body. If you want to specifically build up a certain area of muscles by swimming it's really not possible to do since swimming works your whole body. But the results do come, they just may take a while. Once you get in shape and become stronger you'll also get better in a lot of other sports as well.

As for the growing taller part I can tell you as a diversified athlete myself that no sport in the world will help you get taller. If they have any effect on your growth they actually stunt it. I know a girl who has a 6'3" father and a 5'10" mother and because of her excessive training for softball she is only 5'2". I know that there may have been a recessive gene involved (that's all genetics, send me a message if you want info on that) but she really should've been at least 5'7". But then again, you are kind of older and have probably done a good part of your growing already. But I would still advise you to take it easy with sports because there is defintely a possibility for you to stunt future growth as well. Although swimming is a great workout for your body it will not make you tall.

It wont make you taller, but it really builds endurance + strength. But keep in mind that you really need to work hard if you want to improve endurance. Drive yourself even if it starts hurting, thats a surefire way to improve your endurance and strength with swimming.

Yes to the first two. My son was born with a life long condition of having very very (weak) or low muscle tone. He is just 4 1/2 years old. He swims since he is 9 months old Well really swims since he is 3.5 years old and his muscle tone is that of a normal child his age. He even ahs muscle definition. And for growing taller you can try growth hormone. If you are anywhere from I think and I can be wrong on or below the 25% for growth on the standardized charts you may qualify for insurance to cover it. You'd have to go to an endocrynologist who would determine if you are eligible. Also growth hormone helps with muscle tone in very very small amounts.

swimming is great because it works out your whole body and is really strenuous. if you swim for 30 plus minutes a session, your endurance will absolutely increase. unfortunately, it won't help you grow taller. that's determined by your genetics and bone growth. but being in good shape is never a bad thing.

Yes it can. Swimming is probably the very best muscle workout regimen anyone can do. It improves endurance, muscle tone, cardiovascular functions, etc, all while suspended from gravity to ease joint aches and pains. However, it has nothing to do with growth in height. There is nothing you can do to change that except get shorter. To ease your mind and stress levels, you need to go bass fishing, get out on the water and relax...
