Hunting - November 2007

Hey its me again. I have a few 22. but i found a site and the ammo for a .17 is not much more than 22. I am looking a 223's now. Are 17 any good? The 223's are a whole lot more than the .17 so if the .17 are good Ill get one of those. I found a Savage .17 cal. its like 200 bucks and that would be nice. I have a half a dozen 22. rifles though. what are good coyote rifles for like 200.? help me again!

Is it legal to shoot your gun in the desert where there is no one. I hear you have to be a mile away from any roads or something...

So yeah where in ;Phoenix, Arizona or Avondale, Arizona can i take my gun to the desert and just shoot away?

i was looking at a remington 710 not looking for soemthing too much more than that price, i like the tactical 700 but not t he $1300 price tage. any suggestions? what do you think about the 710 and what caliber would be best?

I'm looking for a caliber that can take down a grizzly bear in 5 or 6 shots and something for concealed carry. Thinking .44 magnum is perfect. Any other ideas? I know a .45 isn't a bad option but i'm looking for something a bit bigger because there are BIG! mothers in my woods! lol

Why are they saying only a 6" will do? We are only talking a 2" difference here.* How much could be lost in velocity & impact in a 4" as compared with using a 6" barrel at 50 to 75 yards Maximum... Please explain that to me.* Thank you.*

I wear camo shirts and usually walk while I'm hunting. So far I've shot about 3 squirrels and killed 2. I see squirrels all the time but when it comes to hunting, I rarely see them. I need some tips/tricks on how to get squirrels. Time is not an issue. I have sat in a tree for 3 hours. Any advice is welcomed.

2 yr old TC Encore misfired 3 times out of 15 recently on a hunt, hammer not hitting shell hard enough. When I called the factory, the first question I was asked was "do you have a hammer extension on it?" What on earth would this have to do with anything

I am currently in the market for a new sevice pistol. I am torn between these two guns however. I know the overall craftsmanship of an HK is supirior to the XD, but wanted to know about preformance.
I am a diehard 1911 fan. When it comes to a combat pistol nothing can come close as far as I am concerned. But due to new management in my academy we are no longer allowed to use single actions that must be ****** and locked.
I want a gun that I can shoot at 25 yards and is extremely reliable. I really dont care for Glocks as I owned a G22 and though it was very reliable the accuracy left much to be desired.
I have fired both an Hk and an XD. As far as comfort they are both very egronomically correct. However, I have not tried and tested over time, so I need some opinions and facts. thanx.

Does anyone own this rifle? I have been rifle shopping for months and i finally found one that I like in my price range, But i don't know how good the quality is or if the scope is worth a crap lol

Let's pretend for a moment you were allowed to choose one assault rifle of any kind to be given to you, what would you choose? Why?

It doesn't matter whether it's legal for civilian ownership, or even if ammunition is affordable, only just what one would be your favorite to have.

And don't bother answering "Duh, i'd choose a way valuable one and then sell it!" so forget the resale values.

I picked them up new in early 06' near the end for the New Haven plant. I left both rifles new in the box unfired with tags still attached to the levers.
