Deadly weapons??

Damn...there must be a lot of defective rifles out there. I don't know of any around here that have been used to kill or maim someone. People should return them for a refund for a baseball bat or something a bit more violent eh?

Thumbs up to DJ..

A replicas is just that, therefore because it is a replica it is not a deadly weapon. Remember the past. History is important, maybe you should read more then you would know the answer to your own question.

for two main reasons: 1.) Schools generally do not allow REAL weapons, edged OR firearm, on-campus, except in the hands of civil or military personnel who are there for a reason. 2.) Because the girls you speak-of are generally too small to handle a full-sized demilitarized rifle. All they are for is to resemble a military color-guard, or to do a variant on military rifle-drill as a variant on their batton-twirling. Having done the real thing with springfield rifles, I can GUARANTEE you that cheer and batton-twirler girls do NOT want to do it with the real thing, hence the light-weight "Shapes" they use.

Cost might be a factor, as well as weight - easier to wave around.

Madeline : I have a replica 1858 Remington .44 pistol...
and I assure you, it's quite deadly.
You meant a non-firing replica.

It sounds like you are talking about a version of Color Guard at sporting events. My school's Color/Winter Guards use "rifles" and "sabers" if they do not carry a flag. They obviously cannot use the real thing, so they carry the alternative instead.

If you are talking about the Color Guard surrounding the US Flag, they are there to protect the Flag from idiots that want to harm it.
Would you rather they use Swords?
