I'm looking for a good first rifle to own. Should I start with a .22? And if so, which one? Any thoughts?

What are my options when it comes to increasing accuracy and velocity (without reducing reliability)? I'm new to the sport so specific parts, and where I can purchase them, will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance...

I hunt deer with bow and rifle, black bear with bow and hunt moose with the bow only cause the tags are easier that way three of us went up north last season and got a nice cow with the bow beside that we seen 9 moose out of bow range.

The small game hunting dosen't get my heart going as much but i do love running my beagles in the fox pen for competition.

I bought a new stock for my ak but I cannot remove the old wood one. I removed the two screws but it is stuck. I have heated the metal up and banged on it with a mallet but it didnt work. Any suggestions to get it off without damaging it too much?

I thinking about buying a Ruger Red Label O/U shotgun to do some upland hunting. I don't want to pay more than $1,800 for a gun. Are these guns decent? I'm aware that Ruger semi-auto handguns aren't the best, thats why I question their shotguns.

where i am at we just had a law passed where we cant shoot any bucks smaller than 4 points on one side. What bothers me about this is that we take my little brother out for the youth hunt and if he sees a buck (no matter what size) he gets a big grin and it is so hard for us to explain why he cant shoot this deer. and we have such a hard time explaining to him why they are doing this when we don't even know.

Any comments would be greatly appreciated

I will soon have the money saved up to go on my dream trip. I am going to spend 2 years fishing off southern california for the big fish then spend 2 years in alaska hunting their big game and finesh off in africa which brings me to my big question. what caliber of rifle should I bring to africa? I'm planning on hunting elephant, cape buffalo, lion and leopard. I've been told a .50 bmg is the only way to go for the elephant and cape buffalo but will my 300 wsm take care of the lion and leopard and bear in alaska? anyone have any ideas?

Keep in mind i'm ONLY interested in these 2 calibers, if i wanted to know about how accurate your 6mmbr shoots i would have asked. If i wanted to know how much you like 300winmag, i would have asked.

Out of the 2 calibers, 17hmr and 22wmr, which one has the best proven accuracy and consistancy? I already have a 22wmr rifle that shoots 1/4moa @ 100 yards, are the 17hmr's more accurate, less accurate or about the same. The longest shot's i would ever plan on taking would be between 100 yards and 150 yards, considering 150 yards is about max for consistant accuracy from the 22wmr. All I shoot now is paper, but in the next year i will be moving to where i can go varmint hunting, but am limited to ONLY using rimfire, hence my curiousity about 17hmr. Also any info concerning the 17mach2 would be appreciated.

I just purchased this rifle for 79.00, no cosmoline (pre cleaned) with matching numbers with a nice stock and factory refinnished action and barrel, looking for others mosin fans who might know more about the true ballistics and nature of this model and frankly if this was as good as deal (price wise) as i was led to belive?

The DC chapter of NAMBLA, an organization that advocates the molestation of young boys by sexually deviant homosexual men, has recently secured a parade permit to rally at the Naval Memorial in Washington, DC on March 17.

I discovered this fact while attempting to discover when CODE PINKO was going to be holding their next anti-American protest, and am absolutely disgusted by the fact that the deviants are going to be in my city.

Fortunately, the Naval Memorial is surrounded by three buildings that are under construction, and thus abandoned, allies that are cluttered but have a clear line of sight on the memorial, and an overabundance of roads leading away from this location, thus making it the perfect location at which to send these deviants the message that they are not welcome anywhere in this country.

I was wondering if a .30-06 or .308 frangible round, fired from an M1-Garand, SOCOM 16 would be able to hit a four inch target at 400yds under these conditions???
