my sons and their friends go out at night and run them with dogs
but most people have their land leased to hunters and that is part of the lease. Check this site

You might talk to some land owners. If they're having problems with hogs they just might let you shoot them. This is not real likely since hunting is a big business in Texas because of the shortage of public hunting land.
I did meet a man in Falfurrias who has had good luck letting ranchers allow him to trap hogs on their land. He'll remove his trap, hog & all, and either butcher it, sell it or re-locate it where people trophy hunt hogs. He tells me it has become a full-time job.

Hunting leases have become big money and an industry all to themselves down here. Look in classified ads in the newspaper of the nearest big town.

Go to the blm(bureau of land management) web site.
I don't know about TX specifically but blm is dept of interior and all states are required to provide a certain amount of land for free use.
