A hotdog with everything no relish, or a pizza puff?

They will be battling it out in my stomach in about 20 minutes and I want to place a bet with my bookie before this fight starts.

Thanks,

I know San Soo has been around for ages, but I've heard some weird accounts about San Shou.
When was San Shou made?
Where did it begin?
What are its parent arts?
Does it have any ground grappling?
I've heard from some that the schools vary a lot on what they teach (Especially between the Eastern and Western world) Is this true?
I don't take it now (No schools near me... Wah Wah Wahhhhhhhhh :p), but I'm considering it for the future as a possibility.

You know how fighters harden their hands and legs by hitting hard things? Is that bad for them? Could there be any long term damage from doing that? And those people who break blocks with their heads, that has to be bad for them, right? I mean the training part, not the actual hitting part...

I've noticed recently that whenever I train with weapons in my style of karate, I have a tendency to do a little extra. I start spinning them, twirling them; It's like they have become a part of me and the scary part is that it feels so fluid and I get a lot of compliments, but I know it's not in the curriculum. I wanna say that it's mushin, meaning "no mind", but i feel like it's insecurity on my part and that i wanna show that I am more than capable of handling weapons, but I don't want to come across as a show off. Anyone feel this way, too?

I find it a big contradiction that Aikido is an

"art practitioners could use to defend themselves while also protecting their attacker from injury"

But at the same time people say that their techniques are too deadly to be used in competition and that it's likely that if the person doesn't know how to flow with the technique that they will end up with a broken arm or something

So which is it? because last time I looked the regular guy on the street didn't know how to break fall

I wanted to know this because a long time ago a black belt at my dojang got into a fight at school and wasn't the antagonist. he got expelled but the other kid only got suspended for a week, because they said that the black belt was fighting armed, when he was just using his legs and hands.

I am a tall, mid-twenties female with not so strong joints but I want to do a martial art. I want to learn better balance, flexibility and cardio health. I want to be able to defend myself in an attack and I want to gain strength and lose weight. I dont really want to use weapons. I know there are so many different kinds of martial arts from all different asian countries. Which is best for me?

to me grappling martial arts especially judo which use throw s seem impracticable in a real defense situation. first is the area around you, while your grappling you wouldn't really have a sense of your surroundings. and you you could damage your self in the takedown because your not on those blue gym mats.

I'm trying to find a type of martial arts right for me. Breathing and focus are important to me, as well as light footwork and sudden attacks. Any suggestions?

Mine used to come from the shoulders. Everything I did was powered by my shoulders (I boxed and ran and snowboarded....)
Now it all comes from the legs and sciatica, since I started surfing 10 years ago. The paddling changed my body center.
has this happened to you? I feel kinda scared.
Like I can't defend myself if needed anymore.........

Anyone know anything about that school or if it looks pretty good? Is mixed martial arts a bad thing to take instead of focusing in one?
