I am currently doing BJJ and Muay Tai (MMA) Mainly UFC stuff, Im looking at getting into taekwondo because then I would get good kicking skills to go along with my punching and grappling. Is there any other martial art that would be better to go along with my current martial arts? Because i've been jumped before and It can always happen again, so i need to be able to protect myself, any idea's that would help me would be really apreciated because I really don't know what to go with.

Thank you,
Dan

Would it be okay if a girl joins a hapkido class and all the other students are guys. I mean is hapkido too hard for a girl? And is it weird to have a girl in hapkido class?

I began experimenting with vitamins in 1968 and by 1970 I've been regularly taking: vitamins B-12, C, and E. And I swear by these vitamins as being effective.

Just that, A CRAZY THOUGHT!
An NBA player already admitted he's gay. No reason there could be nobody in the WWF or any other sport.

I'm going to be visiting a doctor soon about my knees. I don't know what's wrong with them exactly, but I might just have to switch arts. I'm just thinking about this, because I don't know what's going to happen. Just a plan in case I have to stop, or switch to arts that are easier on my knees for a few years or so.
My question is: Is BJJ/Judo easier on the knees than a striking art with kicking? How much easier is it? What are your experiences with it? What about boxing (I haven't boxed in ages...)?
I was planning on joining this school that teaches BJJ/Judo, or the local boxing gym where I can take BJJ and Boxing together (I don't know how my knees will like boxing, or if my Martial arts are the reason I've have problems lately for that matter).
Thanks.

Someone lays down, and they don't use their hands but use their legs to kick themselves up to stand upright.

What is it called?

How do you do that?

I crosstrain in several different styles, because I feel that it is the best way to train, BUT American Kenpo has recently peaked my interest, because it is unique when compared to other TRADITIONAL martial arts. American Kenpo seems to focus more on practical self-defense techniques as opposed to the spiritual aspects that traditional martial arts does( such as Kung Fu). Also American Kenpo is never "stationary". meaning it evolves with the TIMES! For example Kenpo know incorporates grappling into it's style. A lot of other styles still WON'T incorporate grappling into it's style! My school has been doing it for over 10 years. ALSO American Kenpo trains to fight OTHER skilled fighters, unlike many other martial arts which focus on techniques against UNTRAINED fighters. This Kenpo Karate website explains it best...................

What do you think? Is there other martial arts which you feel are underrated?

I think you could make a case for either reason why Team Hughes has lost 6 in a row on the Ultimate Fighter. First of all, alot of his guys seem to be very shredded, bodybuilder types but without alot of fighting ability. They have impressive physiques but lack that killer instinct. They probably spend more time lifting weights and looking in the mirror than fighting. On the other hand, it may be that Hughes isn't a very good coach and spends more time picking on them rather than teaching them how to fight. Hughes seems to run his team through intimidation while Sera runs his through mutual respect and genuine care for his fighters. What do you think?

Hi. Can you guys give me any idea what would be an ideal martial art to study for a prison guard ?

I found myself in a bit of a “no way out” situation the other day. I got out of the situation, thanks to talking this person down. However, it made me think that if I hadn’t managed to talk him down and had to fight, all we’d do is exchange punches till one of us goes down, which I can do easily but think it’s better not to.

I need something smart, hard-hitting if required, pretty easy to learn and something that can, in time, become spontaneous to a degree.

Thanks for your help guys.
