Well what my friend does to increase his speed and strength is that he usually drains himself of his energy before starting his workout routine. For example you said you do kicks and Punch's so I would recommend draining your leg strength first then try and do your kicks. You will feel the difference in just trying to keep up with your old self. And for Punch's do lots of push ups until your arms are drained and then begin your Punch's. Its a workout from hell but it works.

Fundamentals, fundamentals, fundamentals...

Of the 1000 punches and 200 kicks, how many of them are fundamentally correct? Repetition is good, but if you repeat the same mistake over and over and over and over and over again, you get nowhere.

Proper technique is your answer. If you focus on each of those 1000 punches individually, and ENSURE that you are doing it fundamentally correct EVERY TIME, you will eventually get to a point wherer you no longer have to focus on the motion, and you can begin working on executing it faster. Same with the kicks. If you aren't loading properly, aren't extending properly, aren't employing proper rotation, proper reaction force, etc., you are gaining nothing but a bad habit.

Keep it simple, do it right, and speed will be a natural by-product of your efforts.

You're pretty skilled. If it's speed you're concerned about, here's my advice: practice alternating between styles, punching 1st, kicking 2nd, punching, kicking, punching, kicking, on and on. Once you get fast, begin doing stuff like left leg, right arm, right leg, right arm - alternate between limbs. After getting all that done, then do the same limb one after another. Make sure you have something to attack, preferably a wood fixture anchored to the ground with about 1/2 to 1 inch of dense padding.

Try standing on one foot, and keep throwing as many kicks as you can. Speed bags work perfectly, not only will it improve your speed, but it can also improve your accuracy. Keep on practicing. Try quick combo moves. Kick Kick Punch Punch Punch Kick Kick. Punch Kick Punch Kick, things of that nature.

for punches...i would use a speed bag and a bag for accuracy, it goes from the floor to the ceiling, bag is in the middle...for kicks...i would work on balance, if you can stay on one foot longer, you might be able to get a few more kicks in. if you feel that you are not fast enough, do more kick/punch combos..or work on one at a time.
