No way! Do it. I do karate here in Japan and there are people of all shapes. If you are dedicated and do your best nobody will laugh at you. If they do, find another club.

Kickboxing and kickboxing classes tend to be a little loser than martial arts classes and you may encounter someone that is just not very smart when it comes to some of the social niceties. Those kind of people tend to make comments about anything and everything and usually are not well liked and you sometimes encounter them anywhere and anytime. Try to think past that and realize it is something you want to do and go for it. You may find that nobody notices or says anything at all and if you want you can wear some long cotton sweat pants I bet as long as they don't have any zippers. Talk to the instructor and ask.

they might, but once you become proficient the laughter will cease as they will be more inclined to respect you than risk angering someone with the ability to physically dominate and abuse them. Everyone is different and everyone has something that could be picked on/laughed at but by laughing at someones short coming they only confirm their own inadequacies. Be yourself, if that's not good enough for those that would make fun of someone, then they most certainly do not deserve your respect or friendship. Your life shouldn't be controlled by what you percieve others may or may not think of you. Live your life as you see fit as long as you harm no one in doing so.

Relax and go try the class.

I'm sure they are very familiar with new students of all body shapes, styles, sizes and proportions coming through their doors, and honestly slightly bowed legs is nothing unusual.

If it is as good a class as you believe, they will welcome you as a new student, and will do all they can to make you feel comfortable and supported during the first (most difficult) few months of your trianing.

Good luck to you

Everyone in there, even the instructors started with no knowledge of the art, and were probably motivated to start for the same reasons as you.

They will laugh if you do something funny, not because you think you look funny.

After a few good hard kicks to the side of their head I'm sure they wont be laughing very much. Just work hard at it. No one will notice anything except for the fact you can kick.

If they laugh at you ignore them. Go and enjoy it all, anyway they might not even notice. You say slightly bowed so go on and kick box!!

I agree with 'spidertiger'. No-one will laugh at you, and if they did, I'm sure that the instructor wouldn't approve of such behaviour.
Anyway, I'm sure that you will be permitted to wear long training pants.
Good luck, go for it!
