I had to attend a formal gala this weekend. I did not watch the Lightning game, and they won. Someone at the gala had suggested, I need to take a break, because you can jinx a team by watching them all the time. This was coming from a guy that plays hockey in a local amateur league. He said he had not seen any Ottawa Senators games for the first 5 weeks of the season, and now that he is watching them again, they are losing. He added that he has gone months last season, not watching the Senators (his favorite team), to prevent being a jinx, which is common amongst his friends.
Crazy talk, I say. It is just silly to think that watching or not watching a game can change the outcome. It MAY prevent you from seeing your team lose as much.
Have you ever heard of this madness? Is this common? Do you think that he was pulling my leg?
