Do you think we should get rid of Rick Dipietro due to his inconsistancy in the recent seasons. Despite his record and GAA isn't horrible it's not getting us places either. Satan is getting old and Yashin our only true captain is gone to Russia and is probably not coming back and the rest of the roster can only put up so many points to make up for rick's mistakes. PS. If we got rid of him or traded him who would you like to see between the pipes?

How can you possibly blame D.P.? He's the only reason the Islanders have a winning record. First of all, Dubie was in goal against Atlanta. DiPietro has only played 3 full seasons and increased his win total every year. Over that time his save % (.911)and GAA(around 2.32) are fine. Currently this season he's right there too. He's only 25 years old. Do you realize how many games the Islanders have been involved in that have been decided by only one goal? 17! Is it his fault that management trades away young talent and 1st round draft picks for guys that leave after 6 weeks(Ryan Smyth), or doesn't even fight to keep free agents like smyth,Poti, Kozlov, Blake. Yashin was a freakin waste; he was NEVER a true captain. They only gave the C to him to try to motivate his sorry @$$ because he sucked, and that didn't work either. Do you even know what the Islanders gave up to get that loser Yashin in the first place? Try Chara and a 1st round pick(2nd overall) that Ottawa turned into Jason Spezza! Who would you rather have playing on your team? I hope Yashin stays and never comes back. As far as "Rick's mistakes", they usually come from over-agressiveness, not because he sucks. ALL goaltenders make mistakes. Even if they wanted to trade him, they couldn't because of his long-term contract, which the Isles gave to him, he never asked for it. Next time try backing up your comments with some valid reasons.

Being an avid Rangers fan, I can say I would be fine with DP being traded, to a team we never play. He is the single reason for the Islanders being in it over the past year or two. His strong play in net, as much as it infuriates me is the only thing on the back end that the Isles have. Laying Low is correct in saying that the Isles management is horrendous however, Yashin was a man who never gave it his all in NY. Chara on the blue line would give DP the ability for rediculous numbers, but it wasn't meant to be. However, I will maintain that Lundqvist is a much more solid goal tender as DP will seemingly do things that dont make sence, but they end up working because he is unconventional in goal.

O and one more thing, as good as DP is, the biggest mistake the Isles ever made was trading away Luongo after they drafted him.. poor management strikes again.

i'm happy to assert that i have not considered a unmarried individual on the following condoning what the Islanders followers did. this is a credit to the pastime of hockey that maximum followers refuse to propose the movements of a few (probable lower than the impression of alcohol) jerks, no matter if or not they be booing at inappropriate circumstances, throwing issues, or making crude comments that make user-friendly of a real tragedy. i change into lower than the effect that a penalty may be observed as on a crew for movements like that from followers (i comprehend it really is the way it somewhat works contained in the NCAA) and that i imagine some thing may want to be finished to discourage a majority of those idiotic movements.

You don't trade your best player, nor can you easily move a 15 year contract, even if you were crazy enough to want to dump a guy as good as Dipietro.

I don't think the Isles will be moving Dipietro any time soon. Not with that contract, anyway.

Obviously you are not a very good New York fan if you didn't already throw Yashin under the bus . . . like the rest of the fans and the organization.

The last I looked the Islanders were in the playoffs, and had games in hand. To me, that is the sign of a pretty good team.

Rick is the only reason the Isles win. And who is gonna take on his 15 year deal?

Just add an "s" to net and you have that bird's new home--nest..
Armageddon will happen before his contract expires, so concentrate on working with D-men and wingers for now..

Laying Low = 10pts.....
