He's ripped into Mikka Kiprusoff, one of the best goalies in franchise history. Iginla is working his *** off game after game, but Flames continue to lose. Dion Phaneuf looks burnt out and uninterested; he played very poorly on the Westcott OT goal against Columbus.
Calgary is currently 13th in the west, but Phoenix and LA can pass them if they win their games in hand. I think Keenan won't last past Christmas if Flames don't do better.

1/3 of the way into the season and they trail Edmonton and Toronto in the standings. That tidbit can't be sitting too well in Calgary, considering their talent.
IMO, Sutter's style of coaching really limited a players ability to be creative, offensively. The guy was strictly a defense first coach, and sometimes players get sick of that style. So they bring in a guy, Keenan, who is even worse than Sutter. I don't blame the players for not responding to him. I can't help but think Keenan was available for a good reason. The Flames would be awesome with the right coach. The problem is, his contract is probably something the Flames organisation doesn't want to eat, so they might stick it out for quite a while. Having to eat that contract would force Sutter to admit he made a mistake, which I don't think he's about to do

He'll last the year.

They have more points than this time last year (+2)
They have more goals than this time last year (+6)

Sadly, they have given up more goals than this time least year (+21) and Kiprusoff's SPCT is down 0.150, that's a lot. Iginla and Sutter have both backed up Keenan on Kiprusoff incident.

Again, I'm confident that they will be playing in late April.

Flames blew it. They should have signed the best available coach and that was Brett Sutter. Keenan will take a bow either right before or right after Christmas.

It's already lasted too long. I was shocked when they hired him. Look at his history. He was succesful initially with each team before alienating the players, and each tenure was shorter than the previous. His act has worn thin. We all knew he would have problems with Kipper, becaue of his tendancy to yank goalies fast, but now he's unable to do that, so he's going to rip into him and he has no class to do it privately. I guess Sutter was trying to get tough after the Playfair failure last year. He'll last the year, is my guess. Sutter can't afford to toast his 2 handpicked coaches in less than that.

You mean there was an organization stupid enough to take him after the Luongo-Bertuzzi trade?
