I am meeting Walter on January 1st.

i am pretty excited, him and my dad know each other because my dad was really good friends with Wayne growing up.

it is actually a public meet, BUT my best friends sister works at the store, and we get to stay behind and talk to him and stuff.

if anyone wants anything autographed, just message me, we can work something out.

btw, Wayne isn't going to be there obviously, only Walter.

Yes, I've met Walter. The Gretzky's live a couple blocks from the Brantford Mall and Walter was in there nearly every day talking to the guy who ran the sports dept (Harold Yemm) in the Woolco store. When I was going to school (again) I worked part time in the store during the change over to Walmart and spoke with Walter nearly every day. Walter always had time to talk to anyone who wanted to.

Yo Chris, did your dad go to NPC? I may know him.

::Blushes in embarassment::

Not a FORMAL but it was a little funny.

I met MR. Gretzky in wayne's resturant, when Wayne was a Ranger.
Mr. Gretzky was walking by and yes although I realised a bit late all inside were calling him 'Walter', by manners I called him 'Mr. Gretzky' & he says ..."Mister ?"

(I so wanted to hide under the table, glad I could give him a chuckle)

Yes, in Nagano in 1998. Already got his autograph. Keep him away from the booze though. He can get wasted.

Wow, Chris that is great. No, never met him. Remember January 7th, will be the one anniversary of his wife's death. You might want to say something sympathetically nice to him.

Chris, she died of lung cancer.
