because it is NOT, in no way shape or form is field hockey better than ice hockey. You know why ice hockey players were so much padding, becuase if they didnt they would be broken and bloody and beat up after every game. Ice hockey is the true, the toughest and the best form of hockey ever.

Says who? India? Lacrosse is tougher than field hockey. Football is tougher than field hockey. Baseball...okay, I'm going a little overboard. Hockey is one of the toughest sports out there. Can you think of another sport where you're going 40km/h just to hit someone with your body?

By whose standards? A field hockey goalie never had his throat accidentally slit during a game and nearly bled to death on the field, a field hockey player never got smashed into the boards going almost 30 miles an hour, field hockey players don't spend their childhoods practicing outside in the subzero weather for hours on end, and field hockey players aren't allowed to get in fistfights during the game. Guess which sport requires more toughness?

Ive heard of Jai Alai. That I guess is a form of field hockey/lacrosse and is considered to be pretty "tough" sport. The ball can go up to 200mph on a hard shot. (GTFO of the way)
