I'm looking to buy this jersey [ http://toronto.craigslist.ca/clt/482999107.html ] for my boyfriend, but I know nothing about autographed memorabilia and I don't want to get ripped off.

- do you think it's real? (no holofoil, but has a COA - detalied pic of cert to come)
- how much is it worth?
- anything else I should know?

THANKS SO MUCH!!!

EDIT: to those scrutinizing the placement of the letters, I highly value this argument, however can it be explained by the fact it is lying on a down comforter?

It's definitely authentic, since it has a certificate.
It's worth different amounts to different people, but (have a look at my source) you can get one for about $400 cheaper on ebay.

Yzerman rocks, he'll love it!

My concern is with the picture............the 'E' and 'R' in Yzerman looks awfully crooked to me

The bottom on the 'E' should be equidistant from the bottom of the 'Z' and the bottom of the 'R'..........but it isn't. It is closer to the 'R' than the 'Z'

Similarly, the top of the 'E', it should be equidistant from the top of the 'Z' and the top of the 'R'......but it isn't. It is closer to the 'Z' than the 'R'.

Based on looking at the picture and how quickly the inconsistencies in the name appeared to me, I would pass. Especially as it's "Make an Offer".

I'd also be concerned wityh the fact it has been listed there since November 18th (15 days ago). Even at $850.00, somebody would have picked that up within the city of Toronto.

Angel,
I've shown the pic to a few more NHL people, they ALL question it's authenticity.

Again, it's been 15 days, if it were real, it would have sold by now.

Yeah I'm with LITY on this one. The N comes down a little more then the rest of the letters too. If there wasn't anything wrong then why didn't they lay it flat?

After reading the rest of the answers, and looking at the picture, I have to agree with LITY....the colour of the nameplate looks off to me as well.

I'd stay away as well. I wouldn't want to be ripped off either.

Angel just too let you know, ANYONE can make a Certificate Of Authenticity. If you check out the NHL link on the bottom you can find the real deal there. For value it really depends what Red Wings jersey or what jersey he signed, and how many there are in total. Be CAREFUL.

LITY, your seenile, it's because of the way the jersey is lying! :P

i got some other people to look at it too, they said it's the way the jersey is lying there, that's why the letters look crooked.
