i think so. they have lost total respect of the game just for some extra $ for the goon david stern. they do everything they can just for "good marketing" which is the dumbest thing i ever heard of. is the nba a basketball league or a stock market? they are slowly ruining basketball just for dollars in their pocket. Thats why college ball will always be better. Do you agree?

He can do that when nobody besides him will take the initiative to win the freaking game. Take LeBron for example, he's the best player on his team and a friendly ball passer but is not winning... In games like game 1 in Detroit he needs to hog the ball to win. Even though Detroit's defense wouldn't allow him he's should've tried.

Why do you think there is an NBA Lottery? My personal belief is not because it will keep teams from tanking (They do it anyways i.e. 96-97 Spurs!), I believe it is because David Stern was tired of seeing big time players going to small market teams and losing money! More benjamins in Ol' Davey Stern's already grotesquely greedily lined pockets - Oy Vey! Tell me what you think!

Whenever "knowledgeable" people discuss basketball and the "greatest" ever Jordan is an automatic number one with the number 2 light years behind him. Why? Some media types say its because of the 6 rings....Russel has more rings than fingers. Then other say well Jordan made everyone around him "better" thats not hard when ur teammates with one of the 50 greatest players as well as one of the best 3point shooters in the history of the game (Kerr 45% career 3pt shooter). OK it must be that he is such a prolific scorer...Chamberlain nothing else needs to be said. I think that the Jordan infatuation is just a result of his playing career being in phase with media renaissance. Chamberlain 100pt game probably wasn't known about nationally till a few days after it happened today if a player (not Kobe) has 25 in the first half the entire world already knows about it. Am i completely off with this argument?

THis time lasy year Dwyane Wade was the talk of everything in the NBA because of his playoff sucess. This year most of the talk is around Tim Duncan and LeBron James. I feel the SPurs will win the Finals and Tim DUncan will be considered the best player like D-Wade was last year. My question is would you rather build around Duncan or Wade. I always hear people would love to build a team around him but I never hear how good he is like I heard about Wade last year

Basketball
Two teams
Running down the court
Fighting for the ball
Hoping for a shot

Mark Jackson and Greg Anthony are ESPN basketball experts and both came out and said that Dunacn is the best PF to ever play the game. They weren't asked this question, they just stated their opinion. One during a Spurs game and the other on Sportscenter. Both are former players and I would think they have a clue of how good players in the NBA "really" are. Also read this link I have posted here and tell me what you think........Jerry Sloan thinks pretty highly of Duncan also, and I would say he is pretty well-respected in the league.

Also Larry Bird should not be considered a PF. In Larry Legnd's hay-day he was a SF. McHale was the PF on that squad.

Everybody is complaining because Robert Horry bumped Steve Nash a little to hard out of frustration. I agree that was a dirty play. All the complaining about Bruce Bowen is absurd. If Bowen was so wrong and "dirty," like everybody is saying now, then why NO suspension from the league.

Back to my question. Everybody hates the Spurs now and for no reason except for the NBA suspending Stoudamire and Diaw. It wasn't their fault that the league has a rule and both players CLEARLY broke the rule. The Spurs aren't a dirty team. They just play terrific team defense. It's a physical style and it gets under people's skin and frustrates them. To me, and people that know basketball, that's just great defense. Right? Let me here it Suns fans.

One More Thing - One guy on here says that Tim Duncan is not a good player...........Any thoughts on that? I think this guy is crazy (Clifford). We all know he's not a Suns fan, if he was he would've seen Duncan tear the Suns up last series.

My pick goes to MJ all day!
Why? Because MJ's dominance reigned for along peroid of time. Check this out:

10 scoring titles (a record of 7 in a row)
3 steal titles
Highest career point average
Highest career playoff point average
Most total points in play-offs history
Highest scoring play-off game in history
In one game recorded 69 points, 18 rebounds, 6 assit, & 4 steals
The most consecutive games scoring in double figures
The highest point average in a NBA Finals series
Has the Chicago Bulls franchise record for the most total career assist

Anyways, I didn't want to mention championships, mvps, awards, or etc. All of the things I mention took great physical stats to do it. What kind of physical proof that Shaq recorded that made him more dominate then MJ. NONE!

MJ is the GREATEST EVER!!!!!

Or which one would be a better deal for both teams?

Shawn Marion and Boris Diaw for Garnett?

Shawn Marion and Kurt Thomas for Garnett?

Shawn Marion and marcus Banks for Garnett?

Shawn Marion and the 4th-7th draft pick for Garnett?

What do you think??

I've heard from so many people here that physical, low scoring, defensive minded basketball is boring, and how they all wish that the up tempo teams were still playing. I like games that are hard fought, and won in the trenches. I enjoy watching teams with good offensive execution in the half court, and that aren't always jacking up three point shots on the fast break. I feel like i'm in basketball heaven right now, with teams like San Antonio, Detroit, Utah, and Cleveland. It really coudn't be much better.
Alas, I guess I'm alone. To me up tempo basketball is alright in an all star game, but in championship competition, I want to see guys really push and shove, and get after it. Fast break basketball is for pansies who watch Sports Center, and could care less about who wins, but only how good they look doing it.

I believe it will be the Spurs and the Pistons in the finals...I know it's the popular pick. Then i think the pistons will beat the spurs in the finals(go Flip)But on the post game show last night Charles Barkley said he thought the Jazz would be able to beat the Spurs...Then Magic backed him kind of. Does anyone else actually share this opinion with these two basketball geniuses?
