Everybody is complaining because Robert Horry bumped Steve Nash a little to hard out of frustration. I agree that was a dirty play. All the complaining about Bruce Bowen is absurd. If Bowen was so wrong and "dirty," like everybody is saying now, then why NO suspension from the league.

Back to my question. Everybody hates the Spurs now and for no reason except for the NBA suspending Stoudamire and Diaw. It wasn't their fault that the league has a rule and both players CLEARLY broke the rule. The Spurs aren't a dirty team. They just play terrific team defense. It's a physical style and it gets under people's skin and frustrates them. To me, and people that know basketball, that's just great defense. Right? Let me here it Suns fans.

One More Thing - One guy on here says that Tim Duncan is not a good player...........Any thoughts on that? I think this guy is crazy (Clifford). We all know he's not a Suns fan, if he was he would've seen Duncan tear the Suns up last series.

BLITZ 06 - Duncan and Bowen came off of the bench in a play where there was no confrontation. After Elson hit the floor, he got up and ran down court and same with J. Jones on that play. The rule states no leaving the bench when a confrontation breaks out. Know the rules and you wouldn't sound unexperienced.

No really I want to see this "clifford" kid come on here and give his reasons for Duncan not being a good player??? If you have a link to the statement of that please provide it. I am almost in shock that there are such unkowledgeable people here.

It's kinda funny though how you never heard of the Spurs being a dirty team but as a boring team and then all the sudden they are not only a dirty team but the DIRTIEST and the most boring team???? Hmmmm...

Game 1
Spurs 108- Jazz 100 / Pistons 79- Cavs 76 ???

^^^Ya looks like the Spurs are just too boring for the league?

Oh and so some people know bruce bowen has done some dirty plays here and there but take into account he has been all defensive 1st team 4 times now VOTED BY GM'S and COACHES of the LEAGUE so obviously everyone that actually works in the league knows hes one of the best defenders and so you know some of the best defenders in the history have been known as dirty players, some of the dirtiest players ever (while being some of the best defenders); Isiah Thomas, Rick Mahorn, Bill Laimbeer, Karl Malone, John Stockton, Dennis Rodman.

Just read blitz06 answer. Um just so you know Duncan and Bowen were not suspended because there was no face to face confrontation such as the one shared by Raja Bell, Robert Horry, and Steve Nash. If Elson and James Jones would have got into each others faces or if Elson got up in a fury to confront Jones then Duncan would be suspended. If you show me where the confrontation (after the play) was in that play I would gladly say Duncan should be suspended. Notice how there were about 7 players on the Suns bench and only Amare and Diaw left the bench area in motion towards the confrontation (off the court) please people stop trying to make your point of Suns getting cheated with points you don't have correct or should I say unbiased information about.

Number 3 is some more ammo for the point that I make that in the last 20 years the best franchise in professional sports is the Spurs. Given the record, the titles, the coaching stability, the front office smarts, the attendance and the fact that you don't see their players on the daily police blotter, I have always felt San Antonio was the poster child of how to run a team. Number 7 is great. To add a little to the 1988 playoffs, that Laker run is also memorable for me because after the Jazz, they had to use all 7 games to beat the Mavericks in the conference finals and again in the Finals over the Pistons. I think (can you verify) that this is the only time that a team had three consecutive seven game series in one playoff year. Each of the teams that the Lakers defeated had a good shot to win the series, but the Lakers had the moxie that year. No surprise about Howard, either. He is still young and has lots of room to grow - not ready to be a challenger for GOAT just yet.

Horry's foul on Nash was hard but not dirty. It probably wouldn't even have been called if Nash hadn't taken such a beautiful flop.
I agree with everything else you said. For years, the Spurs were called the goodie-2-shoes team of the NBA; now they're dirtiest? No.
Anybody who thinks Tim Duncan isn't a good player simply doesn't know anything about basketball.
And blitz 06, you're a little cat and an obvious Suns fan. You should at least be honest about it.

Let's see... First of all, let me say I'm neither a Suns fan nor a Spurs hater, but let me comment:

Before Horry's foul on Nash, everybody, even our dear David Stern, knows that DUNCAN and BOWEN left the bench. What happened? They ignored it.

Instead, they focused on suspending Amare and Diaw. The issue of duncan's departure from the bench never became controversial since it wasn't nash and horry who was in a fight. It was 2 non-superstar players.

Oh, and Duncan IS a great player, but I have to disagree with his BIGGEST FAN, David Stern, who thinks he is the greatest power forward ever to play the game.

Hmm... David Stern, a Duncan-Spurs fan... Who do you think would wonder why he ignored duncan's departure from the bench.

Spurs are a great defensive team. But Bowen is still a dirty player, which I wouldn't mind on my team because he has that do what ever it takes to win attitude.

Do you understand the meaning of defense, I don't think so because if you have every played basketball and have people hound you and slap you everytime you dribble to ball you get frustrated and call a foul, so next time ask a better question because the only way that the Dirty Spurs win is because they are a dirty team

I agree with you.

Too much attention is spent on the Horry/Bowen stuff.

The Spurs play GREAT strategic defense, and make great adjustments to the opposition. Not enough credit goes to PJ Carlesimo, who is the Spurs Defensive Coach.

And I root for da bulls.
