i think so. they have lost total respect of the game just for some extra $ for the goon david stern. they do everything they can just for "good marketing" which is the dumbest thing i ever heard of. is the nba a basketball league or a stock market? they are slowly ruining basketball just for dollars in their pocket. Thats why college ball will always be better. Do you agree?

The league is a business. The job is to increase revenue and make money for its companies. Is there anything wrong with that? The rest of the American economy works that way. David Stern has done a brilliant job of growing the product nationally and internationally, even if we might not agree with some specific decisions.

The NCAA is similar in many ways, except it only pays its players in scholarship dollars. Aren't there luxury suites in college ball? Sponsorship dollars chased?

You can let all of that spoil the game for you if you want, but a better idea is to just tune out the business side and enjoy the athletic accomplishments. And remember a key point -- players would never be as good as they are if they didn't love the game. The odds of making to the NBA are lottery-like. You can put in the time to get good at basketball unless you love it. And, while you might not hear about it, basically they do. If people are willing to pay $100 a game to see it, I have no problem with players getting a fair share of that money.
