Or which one would be a better deal for both teams?

Shawn Marion and Boris Diaw for Garnett?

Shawn Marion and Kurt Thomas for Garnett?

Shawn Marion and marcus Banks for Garnett?

Shawn Marion and the 4th-7th draft pick for Garnett?

What do you think??

The Matrix is better and younger than Garnet. Garnet is very soft like Dirk. Shawn Marion has not even hit his prime. Kevin is past his prime. So the best bet is to keep Marion and forget about the ultra hype Garnet. has Garnet even been in the playoffs?

I don't know if any of those deals could realistically work out under the salary cap. But, assuming it could, If I'm the Suns, I don't trade Shawn Marion. He's such a dynamic all around player (thus the nickname "the Matrix"), and he's got more years left in the league then KG. Besides, you've already got a terrific inside player in Stoudemire, so you need a wing guy. If I'm the T-Wolves, I have little interest in the 24th and 29th draft picks, Marcus Banks, Kurt Thomas, or even Boris Diaw. I would either want that 4th -7th pick with Marion, or Marion and Barbosa. I wouldn't go for any other deal unless it involved Nash or Stoudamire. I mean KG is there franchise player. I think the Suns would be better off with sticking with what they have, and adding that top draft pick to the mix. There are some good power forwards, and center prospects at the top of the draft.

Shawn Marion and marcus Banks for Garnett and Shawn Marion and Boris Diaw for Garnett are the only trades that the salary cap will allow and i think there both good for both teams

I dont think they have to give up Marion to get Garnett. I am a suns fan and they most likely in the lottery will get the 4th or 5th pick as well, (3rd are higher would be hawks pick then) you could package that pick and a lower 1st round pick for Garnett. Wolves want to unload, suns dont want to change much of their core players from what I hear, and suns will be over cap by 12 mil as it is, but owner Sarver is willing to spend for championship. I think they would rather move up to get oden or durrant. Marion to me is overrated a bit, he dissapears during the playoffs, so it wouldnt be that bad if he does go, I just think that Garnett is getting old and not worth as much as the wolves think he is.

No, I would not trade the dynamic small forward that you have in Marion. I would however trade Amare in his place. Taking into consideration Amare is only 6 years younger than KG. KG plays better defense and is a more fierce competitor. For the Suns the window of oppurtunity will diminsh every year as Nash ages he's 33 this year. Getting Kevin Garnett for Amare gives you the instant favortie to win it all

I think giving up Marion and KThomas is a good deal for both teams. I don't think PHX will give up Marion and Diaw for a Garnett! I don't know what kind of contract KG has with Minn. but letting Marion and KThomas will free some cap space cuz KThomas contract is probably bigger than Diaw's.

Marion doesn't compare to Garnett. That would be a stupid trade for the Timberwolves. A fair trade for both teams....the fairest I can see from what you said would be Diaw and Garnett. Logically, Kurt Thomas and Garnett would be more valuable to the timberwolves right now, but Thomas is pretty old. Diaw is a long time asset. He is young and developing fast.

What up Brendon, i don't think that would work out financially because of Garnett's high salary (or the Lakers i am sure would have gladly given the Wolves 3 picks and Kwame's expiring contract, etc. to get him during the "Garnett Sweepstakes." The Celtics do have a very nice young core. i doubt any team would give up 3 high picks for K.G. because he probably only has 3-5 years left- so unless he's the missing piece to a championship... plus the Celtics are now one of those teams that believe he can be the missing piece- so why would they give that up to rebuild... stockpiling on draft picks is what teams that are looking to rebuild do-- the Celtics are close to the promised land and it comes down to playoff experience and execution... Celtic fans would be upset... and finances wise i don't think it would work and meet league approval and rules. Nickster

Yes for both teams. If you're Phoenix, you're not in build mode its win the championship right now while your window is still open. Two more years and that window starts to close fast. Phoenix gets a guy that is nearly impossible to defend and can still defend himself which puts them squarely in the championship picture once again. Garnett gets Phoenix over the Tim Duncan obstacle finally. On the Timberwolves side. Obviously they need to do something different. KG can't put them into contention by himself so they need to get deeper. Marion + 24th + 29th gives them three solid guys for one. You don't have to go much further than Chicago to see a team without any big stars making a rumble in the playoffs. Add one or two more ingredients down the line and you have a true contender in Minnesota once again.

Personally I'd like to see KG in a Bulls uniform.
