Why do you think there is an NBA Lottery? My personal belief is not because it will keep teams from tanking (They do it anyways i.e. 96-97 Spurs!), I believe it is because David Stern was tired of seeing big time players going to small market teams and losing money! More benjamins in Ol' Davey Stern's already grotesquely greedily lined pockets - Oy Vey! Tell me what you think!

No i completly agree that the Lottery is a joke and so is david stern's completely bogus way of stopping teams from supposedly "tanking games" because apparently teams are still tanking games even with the lottery set up, so basically whatever way he sets up the draft it is still gonna end up being corrupt. honestly he should just switch to what every other leagues do. If you have the worst record then you get the best pick. honestly how hard is that? it makes everything so much easier.

p.s why is it when a team does really bad they are considered tanking their season? if they do bad wouldn't it mean they suck? tanking games theory isn't always true.

i imagine the NFL contained in the US runs an same device - i love the concept the communities that are not doing besides as ones contained in the properly 8 would get more beneficial of a danger - yet what about priority selections (which I accede, will probably pass out the window with Gold Coast and larger Western Sydney getting into the contest)? I understand the position you're coming from with the Bulls getting Rose (the options have not been so sturdy for my Timberwolves, yet Love and Flynn are doing the astounding they could - the adult men will advance in a year or 2) - yet it truly is besides the point. the purely project I see there is that there is a slender danger that a properly draft %. might want to pass to a properly 8 team - i recognize that's a lot less probably on the % in contact yet would or not this is honest that a technique a million or 2 draft %. get picked up by utilising say - St Kilda or Geelong extremely than Melbourne or Richmond? Why no longer allow the timber spoon - or the bottom 4 have a concern %. lottery to work out the position the properly draftee is going, and then after that run a common lottery. i'm particular there'll be teething problems, yet I even ought to confess chorus, the conception does make sense. wager it relies upon on what the AFL committees imagine how the draft should be done contained in the destiny.

The fear is that one player can make a huge difference to a team. Think the Spurs were helped by getting Tim Duncan? The Knicks were helped by Patrick Ewing? Absolutely.

In the old days, the worst two teams had a coin flip to determine the first pick. The NBA decided that wasn't enough, so now the system is designed to make sure there are no guarantees. I like the weighted system, which gives bad teams a better chance but, as Boston and Memphis will tell you tonight, no guarantees.

Its overall very stupid, I think it should be just like the NFL, the worst records get the higher draft picks, basically they are the teams that need the most help in the first place. If big time teams get all the big time players there will never be a good competition, so they need to level the playing field off, for more entertainment.

I think the main purpose is so that teams cant start scouting next years players under the table. no secret agreements when you dont know when you will draft.

If you had gone by records alone, boston could have made a secret deal with oden long long ago.

It think the lottery system is fine. the playoff system is broken.

I actually think it is very interesting and mixes things up a bit. Though my team has never been in a position like the Celtics of this year.
