He is mostly good at shooting 3's but even that is inconsistent. His defense sucks. That would be my guess.

He's a role player who's main thing is shooting the 3. However, he's not always very consistent and the Cavs have players that are much better options. Hughes, for example. The last thing the Cavs need is Jones out there just chucking up the 3 ball. He should have stayed with the Heat where he knew his roll and did it well. Also, the guy cannot defend anyone. At this level of the playoffs, you have to play defensive men. Hughes can be a steal machine, so he needs to be out there even if his shot isn't falling.

Billy J just answered your question. Damon Jones is an incredible sharpshooter, but he should have just stayed in Miami. He made a big mistake coming to Cleveland, they will not win the championship this year or the next. He is a shooter and the worst part is , since he came to Cleveland, he has been erratic and inconsistent plus he is a liability on defense. He will never and cant guard Chauncey Billups nor Jason Kidd. His best year was when he teamed up with Shaq and Wade, that opened up things for him and he had wide open shots all nite...

It's not really that he sucks at everything except for shooting. But the fact is that the Cavaliers rotation is not so bad and it would by smarter to put Sasha and Hughes as guards then putting Hughes and Jones. Jones also has a lot of strong points that makes him deserve more playing time for 1) his 3-point shooting ability that is remarkable and he was even in this years 3-point shooting contest, 2) Jones has the ability and experience in the clutch moment situations like winning a big game against wizards in last years playoffs and he can get the cavs out of a hole with his shooting range. he also did not do a bad job with defense in the playoffs helping us out in game 6 with the NJN. 3) I don't think Jones is the right guy to put in for a series this important and Brown better ask himself, is Jones going to do the kind of defense needed to stay on Billups and rest of Pistons. Jones, and I think, Anderson Varajao deserves more time because of there contribution to the team.

He was brought over as a three-point specialist, but he has not delivered on that count. I think having a dominant center created more shots for him in Miami. Further, the Cavs have another three-point specialist in Marshall who is able to get it done. That is why Jones isn't playing.

He only has a set shot. anything else, and its a miss. He's a better coach. being from Cleveland, when u watch a game, Jones tells Coach Brown what to do, and Brown than tells Lebron what to do. Jones will be a great coach soon. I hope he takes Brown's job, Very soon before we lose Lebron.

offensively he's just been a bit lax of recent so i think mike brown is benching him plus his defense sucks particularly against a guard of billups and hamiltons calibre.
personally i think they should give him more playing time to give him a chance and he is a character both on and off the court.

He's in Mike Brown's doghouse, plus he's just not that good and it's Damon Jones, oh and he's too small.
