Mark Jackson and Greg Anthony are ESPN basketball experts and both came out and said that Dunacn is the best PF to ever play the game. They weren't asked this question, they just stated their opinion. One during a Spurs game and the other on Sportscenter. Both are former players and I would think they have a clue of how good players in the NBA "really" are. Also read this link I have posted here and tell me what you think........Jerry Sloan thinks pretty highly of Duncan also, and I would say he is pretty well-respected in the league.
Also Larry Bird should not be considered a PF. In Larry Legnd's hay-day he was a SF. McHale was the PF on that squad.

JDWJ - Duncan easily defeats Malone in every statistacal category in his first ten years in the league. He also averages more rebounds and blocks on top of a 2 point scoring differential in malone's favor. One other thing.....Malone had Stockton, who does Duncan have to compare to the passing ability of Stockton? Nobody. Duncan also is surronded by other scorers and Malone wasn't. I know you, of all people will love this, Duncan = 3 rings (and Kobe), Malone = 0 rings. Your favorite quote, "nuff said."

i would definitely have to agree, three rings, back to back mvp's, and he is double teamed night in and night out, i can't name another power forward that can even compare to Timmy D., and after this year he's going to have a fourth ring!

Well, if you're talking about people that are played in that position, then yes, I would say he is arguably the best PF to play the game. However, several people would argue that Duncan is more of a C then a PF, and sometimes I'm inclined to agree. Especially looking at the C in the game today. However, given how he's been playing ever since his rookie year, he's been pretty dominant, and as he's been played at PF ever since, I'd say yeah, he's the best.
I suppose I should substantiate. If we look at him, he's got size, fundamentals, strength, and additionally he carries his team. He may not have the scoring capacity that someone like Malone had, but he gets his fair share of baskets, additionally, he's solid on defense. His game is good.

He is the best ive seen in my time. Dont bring up numbers though because he was not a guy who needed to fill up a stat sheet even though he could if he wanted to. Consummate team player, did what it took to win. Remember, the Spurs never won anything until Duncan got there and they all ready had a MVP in David Robinson. Malone would be a close second, Mchale is in the discussion.

1- Tim Duncan
2- Karl Malone
3- Charles Barkley
4- Kevin McHale
5- Bob Pettit
6- Jerry Lucas
For the people who don't know what positions players play but still put their names, Wilt Chamberlain was a Center and Larry Bird was a Shooting Forward
