He can do that when nobody besides him will take the initiative to win the freaking game. Take LeBron for example, he's the best player on his team and a friendly ball passer but is not winning... In games like game 1 in Detroit he needs to hog the ball to win. Even though Detroit's defense wouldn't allow him he's should've tried.

If you look back at MJ's career he played similar to Kobe for his first 3 or 4 years. Everyone knew he was a gifted player with his spectacular play and high scoring games. It wasn't until Mike elevated his game to a different level that involved more than just scoring, but "making" his team better and dominating the the defensive end as a team. Mike knew he was the primary target for defenses drawing doubles and triple teams but his decision making and passion to win on the court forced him to understand that he couldn't do it alone. That's what Kobe lacks. Kobe is a great scorer and that is all he will be considered as in NBA history until he develops the understanding that being a leader of a team requires more than being the leading scorer. Lebron has great ability but is lacking the decision making skills to be considered a great player. Once he develops that along with a better jump shot, and the will to want to take that last shot, I will have a better respect for him and his game.

kobe was a ballhog before but now he's changed. i admit he was sorta a ballhog last season but i;m still a great fan.
he needs to be the main man cuz his teammates can't score and smush parker keeps on screwing up
if kg or kidd comnes to la i bet that kobe would share and be a great team again

he does because when he eventually does pass it, noone can finish it 4him. he has no team because lamar odom is the only player relatively good and he has lost his shot from the la clippers. so ya, he does have a reason to ballhog because he is the only one that can finish off the shots.
