C Bill Russell
PG Magic Johnson
SG Michael Jordan
SF Larry Bird
PF Tim Duncan
I preferred Bill Russell over Wilt because Bill is a better team player. Duncan because he plays like Bill Russell defensively and passing wise but scores more points and also is a great team player. All these players play defense.

PF- Dirk Nowitzki
Not the best 5 ever, but nobody can guard Shaq one on one. Once he is double-teamed, you want to have shooters he pass to. Unstoppable offense.

just overall -
PG - Magic Johnson
SG - Michael Jordan
SF - LeBron James
PF - Kevin Garnett
C - Wilt Chamberlain
These players arent necessarily the best at their position (though they arguably are) I chose them because they all play with so much heart, unlike other greats like duncan and dirk nowitski and others.

Your list is a great one . . . so I'm going to go "Old School," and name players that some may not have heard of.
C Bill Russell (ok, everybody has heard of him! 10 rings)
PG Oscar Robertson (most underated hall of famer ever)
SG Jerry West (he is the NBA logo)
SF Bob Pettit (St. Louis Hawks)
PF George Gervin (unstoppable in his prime)
