IF utah can tie this series 2 all will horry pull a dirty stunt like he did against the suns./? probly not because every one is on to him. but it would not surprise me if he tried to in a more subtle way.

or is everyone else not really interested in the NBA's final four for the championship.

the Yankees/Red Sox game 2night to me is bigger than Pistons/Cavs or even Spurs/Jazz.

I could see choosing Nash, Norwitsky, Bryant, Wade, or James. But, for me, I would take Tim Duncan.

People say that foreign players today are as good as American players. People say that the world has caught up with the U.S., in terms of basketball.

Given that all players are in their prime..

PG:Magic Johnson, Isiah Thomas, John Stockton
SG: Michael Jordan, Clyde Drexler, Joe Dumars
SF: Dominique Wilkins, Scottie Pippen, Chris Mullin
PF: Charles Barkley, Karl Malone, Larry Bird
C: Patrick Ewing, Hakeem Olajuwon, David Robinson
Reserve: Kevin Johnson

against

PG: Steve Nash, Tony Parker, Leandro Barbosa
SG: Manu Ginobili, Luol Deng, Gordan Giricek
SF: Andrei Kirilenko, Andres Nocioni, Boris Diaw
PF: Dirk Nowitski, Pau Gasol, Hedo Turkoglu
C: Yao Ming, Andrew Bogut, Andrea Bargnani
Reserve: Mehmet Okhur

Who would win and by how much?

Or how about anyone on the Detroit teams of the late 80's? It's basketball at its best. Call it dirty, call it whatever you want. The Spurs play it well and so does Detroit, and that's why they will be in the finals.

Here's my theory: David Stern had no choice but to suspend Stoudemire & Diaw because if he had used his own discretionary judgment, the union would've taken advantage. Imagine if Stern had said, "Ok, we'll let it go this time. You guys will get off with a small fine." Then the next time players jump off the bench and get suspended, they will say, "No fair! You let Stoudemire & Diaw off the hook. Why should we be punished?" Then it would get crazy and silly because it would get down to how many feet you walked away from the bench and whether or not you 'intended' to get into scuffle. Everything would be judged on a case-by-case basis and the union would fight every suspension tooth & nail - even if it was justified. Stern probably thought about all this and felt it was just a lot easier and sensible just to have one rule for all occasions. It only makes sense. The most important job for Stern is to protect the integrity of the game and to stop fights from breaking out.

Not that it matters all that much, although it kinda tweaks things when All Star voting comes around and voting for All NBA teams. Check out this wierdness. Amare Stoudemire is supposedly a C. But he runs around looking for ways to receive a pass and dart in and slam real quick, or else goes for a jumpshot 10-15ft away from the basket. Duncan is supposedly PF. The dude posts up with his back to the basket on virtually every play, waits for the entry pass and does some nifty low post moves to score. Doesn't it look more like Duncan is C and Amare is PF?

What is so special about them? Or are you all ban wagon fans, sure the spurs have been good. But why does Duncan have to whin after every call. Are the Spurs likable because they try to injure people, this is basketball not fighting... Or is it they check people hard... ummm again this is basketball not Hockey... Someone tell me what is special about the Spurs so I can like them... Someone? Anyone?

I've noticed people have ALWAYS made excuses whenever their team loses to San Antonio. I am sick of it. When will people star to admit that the spurs have won games fair in square and give them respect for their championships? Will a fourth championship do it?

was reading someone else's comment about Duncan being a greater PF than Karl Malone, mostly based on the fact that they're both amazing but Malone has no championships. thing is that in the 90's the Bulls had a dynasty. so an interesting question is actually "could today's Spurs beat the Jordan/Pippen/Phil Jackson Bulls for a championship?" if yes, why. if no, then I think it's fair to say that Malone isn't less than Duncan based off championships.
