I have a lot of respect for Jerry Sloan (the fact that he's never won Coach of the Year is a far worse crime than Amare Stoudemire's suspension) and he's one of the few coaches in the league that will not be outcoached by Gregg Popovich. But seriously the Jazz will be lucky to win a game against the Spurs. Sloan simply does not have anywhere near as good of a team that Popovich has. Did you watch their Game 5 against Golden State? You can't seriously tell me that they looked impressive, can you? The Jazz had something like 25 turnovers and were only saved by the fact that the Warriors didn't have anyone who could rebound the basketball. That won't be the case with Tim Duncan back there. Also, on a worse note, the Jazz two best players are PG Deron Williams and PF Carlos Boozer. Well it just so happens that the Spurs have better players at those two positions as well. (The only edge the Jazz have is that Mehmet Okur is better than Alberto or Elson at center, but because Okur is more of a perimeter shooter than a post player, I see Popovich going small with a lineup of Parker, Ginobli, Bowen, Finley, and Duncan most of the time.)
Prediction: Spurs in 5

no they can not if they ever had a chance beating the spurs at home this was it but the fact of the matter is that utah has lost 17 games in a row in san antonio and are 2-5 on the road in the playoffs
and to the person that said the jazz can beat the spurs playing an up tempo game look what happend to the sun and didn't the spurs score 108 on them tonight i wouldn't call that a slow game

Yes the Jazz can beat the S.A. If they play the way they did against the Warriors. Utah is a fast team but they are also good at rebounds. Being that the Spurs are getting old, if Utah picks the speed of the game up there will be on even match on defense but the tempo of the game will be in Utah's favor, Spurs can't handle the up tempo type of game. It will be a challenge, however since S.A. is good at control the tempo of the game. Look for Utah to win the next three games and win in 6.
Utah better thank Golden State for the lesson in up temp playing, its the only way the Jazz can Win

I'd like to say, because we saw tonight, that no they can't. However, it's still tough to say, this will be a good series. The Spurs wanted nothing to do with Utah. I'm not saying they are the best team remaining in the playoffs, but with Pheonix out, they are the most feared. Who are they? How do they win? The Spurs ran against Utah tonight which was one of the few things that the Jazz struggled with against "The City" and I think that was deciding factor. Look for this to be a better series than you think. I'm still picking the team from Texas over the team from Detroit in 6 at the Finals but, yes...Utah can beat S.A., however, my money is not on the "Mormon" side!

Most everything that can be said has already been said. One thing though: the spurs' big 3 (duncan, ginobili, parker) all played great. The jazz's big 3 (boozer, okur, kirilenko) sucked it up; I don't care if Boozer got a 20 and 12, that's one of the worst performances I've ever seen out of him, and Im a jazz fan. Okur? = *barf* performance. AK? Nothing
Only Deron played well, no one else. And they STILL didn't get blown out completely. So, the chance is, that if they can turn it around (only on their side, no less, just get their shots to go) they can pretty much win the next game. Even if they allow the same number of shots and makes by SA, if boozer and okur just play better, they will win the next game.
But for you spurs fans, your team did play well. I can't believe some of the shots and PASSES those guys made, through the legs and all, wow.

The Jazz might win a game or 2 but the Spurs will win the series. Duncan effectively shut down Boozer and nobody came close to keeping up with Ginobili. And the 'old' Spurs were supposed to be tired today!

if jerry sloan can get deron williams to run a pick and roll with boozer and a pick and pop with okur then they should be alright on offense
defensively they have enough big men to guard duncan and conistantly foul him...boozer, okur, kirelenko, collins, milsap...and duncan can't convert from the line consitantly enough to be a major factor
Deron Williams is not the best option to guard parker because he tends to get in foul trouble early, but fisher is a great defender and quick enough to pester parker all series
the jazz do not have a real answer for ginobili, so they are just going to have to let him score and do what he does and not let him completely dominate a game
oh and theres no great offense talent on the jazz for bowen to guard or try and injure, they play great team ball and all 5 men on the court are threats at all times
prediction Jazz in 6
