I've noticed people have ALWAYS made excuses whenever their team loses to San Antonio. I am sick of it. When will people star to admit that the spurs have won games fair in square and give them respect for their championships? Will a fourth championship do it?

When are people going to lighten up about getting "respect"??

Every player in the NBA respects the Spurs. A good many of them fear the Spurs.

Why do you even CARE if anyone "respects" the Spurs or not? Why be obsessed with what other fans think?

When are people going to stop crying about the fact that their team doesn't get enough "respect" from the fans of other teams?

Get over it. Before you know it, the Spurs run will be over, and you'll have missed enjoying it because you were too obsessed with getting "respect" from fans of other teams.

What are you talking about? Sports commentators almost to a man, show nothing but respect for the team. Do you really think a bunch of Grizzly fans are going to hop on a bus and make the trek down to SA to support the Spurs?

Hey, in the 70's, 80's, 90's, everybody hated the Dallas Cowboys. Do you think they cared?

when talking basketball with friends the Spurs and how theyre made, the matchup problems they pose seems to creep into the conversation, they are a very good team who play a game the right way, no electrifying high flyers...but a team that adheres to the basics, position, defense, unselfish play, rebounding, going to the basket when the shot is off, Mavs and Suns fans have nothing to say ...their teams have never accomplished anything, much less than to have won multiple titles... people in and around the league respect the Spurs, a lot of casual fans dont...

Well their first championship came during a shortened season (strike) and if they win this year, it is because the Suns got screwed. But not even the Spurs fans show respect because they don't even sell out playoff games

Not really man.

Everyone says they are the best defensive team in the NBA for the last few years. Thats respect right there.

2 championships with the same stars with clean games. But no matter how dirty things get, they still can't beat the Mavs. And even though the Spurs get away with dirty tricks unlike the Mavs and Suns and all the other teams, the still can't beat the Mavs. Last year JET got suspended for punching Mike on the groin. Bruce didn't get suspended or not even a technical foul for intentionally tripping J-Ho. Change your name to Spurslose.

The first championship occurred in a strike shorten seaso so an asterisk should place by that one. The other 2 were deserved, their series against the Suns was full of cheap shots and unsportsmanlike play because they couldn't begin them straight up. Why do you think Horry got a standing ovation in Sunday's game.

They have earned their respect. You just say that people don't respect their success because you hear it from people who are one sided and their teams are losing big time. Advice man, listen to the coaches the players (not including the sour losers), they would always say that the Spurs are great.

Spurs have plenty of respects from true fans, and, most importantly, from peers in the basketball league.

The only group who doesn't have respect for them are the pathetic, unsportsmanlike fans, who have been beaten by the Spurs, simply because they don't match up (ie The Phoenix Duns).

It's ridiculous sore-losership like this that is ruining the league. these fans need to quit whining and learn what it takes to truely win.

And I'm a Mavs fan, by the way. Born n' raised...

The Spurs have never won any back-to-backs, so you cannot call them dominant, they are more like opportunists. Plus they really tarnished their reputation in the last series. Maybe they don't get any respect because nobody outside of SA actually likes them, yeah they will get respect from opponents, but not from the media or other fans. Not to mention some teams will never get any respect, SA is one of them.
