I have to say The Big Dipper Wilt Chamberlain. Wilt was an overpowering basketball player who dominated the game more than Shaq did and would ever do. He's simply better than O'Neal in every category except size. At the time of his retirement, he was the all-time scoring leader and had the highest scoring average (30.1) to boot. He's still the all-time leader in rebounding average and one of the best shot-blockers the game has ever seen. In short, he dominated the game on both ends of the court, whereas, Shaq was dominant only on the offensive end. Of course, Shaq could certainly intimidate but he wasn't known for his defense. Even then, Wilt was a better scorer as proven by his single-game high of 100. He had better post moves and a lot more shots in his arsenal than O'Neal (who relies only on dunks and jump hooks). In terms of competition, Wilt battled the great Bill Russell, Willis Reed, Nate Thurmond and later, Lew Alcindor (Kareem). On the other hand Shaq had no competition when he began dominating the paint. He was (and still is) the only legit center in the game since Olajuwon, Ewing and Robinson left the scene.
Now in terms of size, Shaq outweighs Wilt by about 50 pounds, but Chamberlain won't be giving away even an ounce in strength. He was naturally strong, perhaps even stronger than Shaq.

That would be difficult because both dominated in different eras unlike Hakeem Olajuwon and David Robinson or Wilt and Bill Russel. I'd say Wilt made the way (basically because of his dominance rules have to be changed to increase competition) and Shaq took advantage of it, winning 4 championships.

That is a tough question.
Wilt was the best center back in his day because he was so much taller than everyone. if you put him in todays game, he would not be nearly as dominant. The players now are much bigger and stronger. So really, it depends on how you look at it. I still think Wilt is better than Shaq though.

Shaq. The NBA altered the rules to fit his style. Gotta have clout to do that.
Pure play. The Stilt shall forever reign.
Best role model. David Robinson. The guy was a great player & a great person. The dude is highly respectable. The others, not so much.

To me it's Shaq. Mainly because I can't really tell about Wilt because I haven't seen him play. Stats are one thing, but could he do those things these days???

Toss up, both dominating in their prime, neither could shoot free throws, but Wilt caused rule changes. So Wilt it is.
