Tim Hardaway was being honest during a radio interview when he gave his opinion on gays, going so far as to say that he "hated" gay people. I don't condone homosexuality and I know this is the U.S.A and people are entitled to their opinions, but how much different is it for someone to say what he said, or if someone said I hate Irish people, or I hate black people, or I hate people with big noses. Hate is still hate.

Now what you've done great?

I'm 13 and trying to improve my vertical leap. i play tonnes of sport, including basketball, which is why i want to jump higher. Though i already have i high vertical jump for someone who is 5-10 (i am about 1.5 inches from the 10 foot ring) i still need to get that bit higher to get the ring, then get even higher to actually dunk.

First off, let me say this...Tim Hardaway had a right to say what he said, its called Freedom of Speech. Let me also say, that i'm sure he isn't the first: person, black person, or even the first basketball player to say that he doesn't like gays. In my opinion, the media sounds like they are on the John's side. Maybe if he didn't use the word "hate" then this wouldn't have been such a big concern. Overall, there seems to be alot of people pissed because he said this. But you know what bothers me? Why did John Amaechi have to come out and say that he was gay?? Couldn't he have kept his comments to himself. What everyone is forgetting, or maybe ignoring, is that he has a BOOK in STORES NOW!! I mean, I'm not trying to blame Tim Hardaway's actions on John. But how come when a gay comes out, its a big deal? It's almost like its celebrated that they have come out. Also, when someone says they hate something, they might just be saying they disagree with the basis of it.

I have to say Shaq..
4 titles
3 finals mvps
1 season mvps (2000)
2 all-star mvps
1 FIBA World Championship mvp(1994)
14 time all-star
He's a 1st round draft pick
1993 Rookie Of The Year
Been to the finals 6 times
2 scoring titles(1995 & 2000)
2 gold medals
Top 50 Greatest
The only player in nba history to average 20 points & 10 rebounds for 13 seasons straight
3 time all defensive 2nd team
8 time all nba 1st team
2 time nba all 2nd team
3 time all nbs 3rd team
The only other player than MJ to win finals mvp 3 times in a row
Has 9 moives
Has 6 music albums
Has been to the finals with 3 different teams
and the fact that he's the only reason why Kobe has any rings

So I'll say Shaq is better!!!!!!

He went on the radio and flat-out stated that he 'hates gay people' and that he's 'homophobic'. Now there's an outcry over what he said.
Why?
The only mistake he's made is apologising for what he said.
I may disagree with his sentiments, but it's refreshing to see someone that states what he feels, regardless of who he offends.

If people's feelings are hurt - tough, get over it.

So far Florida shows no sign of weakness. So there's one possible team.
Ohio St. might make it, but to me, they need to stop relying on Greg Oden, who is only a freshman, and step up to be a better team.
Wisconsin is a very strong team, but can't match up to Florida. They play hard games but let some slip through their fingers.
North Carolina is good and may deserve a number 1 seed, but losing the sweep to VA Tech was costly.
Kansas is a very off and on team, one game they lose to Oral Roberts and the next they beat the #1 team in the nation.
Pitt has a very good pattern with their games, they win and keep winning, but their games have been semi-easy and a few have been hard.

My choices are:
Florida
Ohio St.
UCLA
Wisconsin

I think it is POTENTIALLY the 03. The draft included: James, Melo, Wade, Bosh, Josh Howard, TJ Ford, Darko, Hinrich, Diaw, Barbosa, David West, Mo williams, Pietrus, Willie Green, Korver and Luke Walton. What draft year did you think was the best, who was in it and why was it the best.

Dwyane Wade is good. But is one of the best in the NBA right now?? We've seen him get away with carrying and traveling a lot. I mean other superstars get away with it too but Wade does it like every other trip down the floor on offense and he doesn't get called for it. How bout getting the referees calls and getting a boatload of free throw attempts? I mean he earnestly takes it to the basket but they call a foul and award him with free throws for being touched and like when defenders reach ( which guys like Duncan, Kobe, Brand, Allen and Rip usually don't get awarded for). So Is Wade the league's darling or is he a legit superstar?

Why does that Hardaway NBA player have to apologize for his remarks about gay people?
Thats him, thats how he feels, so let it be. Every1 is entited to their opinion. I think there should only be a problem if he physically acted out his opion.

When asked what he though about Tim Hardaway's confession on his hatred towards gay people, John Amaechi said this:

"His words pollute the atmosphere... It creates an atmosphere that allows young gays and lesbians to be harassed in school, creates an atmosphere where in 33 states you can lose your job, and where anti-gay and lesbian issues are used for political gain. It's an atmosphere that hurts all of us, not just gay people."

I've already answered about 3 or 4 questions on the whole Tim Hardaway issue but it's interesting to know what Amaechi thinks about it. I agree with him... do you?
