OK people let's get something straight. Judging people for their race or gender is obviously morally incorrect but judging people for their actions is an entirely different story. Some people can't stand others that drive SUVs. Many stay away from people that wear gangbanger clothes. Still others hate people that are associated with the ACLU or that mow their grass at 6:00am every Saturday morning. The list goes on. What makes being gay any different?

While it is true that people have a right to be gay, it is also true that people have a right to judge others for their choice to be gay. Just because you have a right to choose something does not mean you have a right to not be criticized for it. And keep in mind that disliking someone who is gay is not exercising prejudice. Prejudice by definition is judging someone before you know anything about them. If I know someone is gay then I know something about them and am thus not using prejudice. If you want to argue then I would ask you this: If all you knew about someone was that they were either a Neo Nazi or a child molester or an active member of the Taliban would you hate that person. Be honest.

Many people still claim that disliking someone because of homosexuality is immoral. But remember, most of those that dislike homosexuals do so because they believe homosexuality is immoral.

I think Hardaway was refreshingly honest and I wish more would bring like thoughts (albeit not as harshly) to the airwaves.

I do not condone what Tim Hardaway said I believe it was a brutally honest response from him, but also very insensitive and borderline retarded.

I guess I object to Hardaway being put in that spot in the first place. He was put in a no win situation. He either lies or side steps the question or he speaks his mind and looks prejudice. Now without a doubt he could of answered the question much better. What he said was just inexcusable and blatantly ignorant and simply uncalled for.

At the same time, I do not like walking out in my college's student center and seeing a HUGE sign for the Gay & Lesbian campus group. I don't like watching a dating show on MTV with a Hot girl and a 5 guys she's choosing from and than next they show a Guy trying to pick between 5 guys. The gay agenda is being shoved down our throats and I don't like it. I don't like this B.S. that you have to either go along with accepting the gay agenda or you are a racist. It's just as absurd as Hardaway's comments

I think he sounded a little insecure. His voice was cracking like he just came out the closet. Why is he all homophobed? It's not like Amechi hit on him or something. I've worked with and know homosexuals both male and female and they are just as normal as anyone else. Some are flamboyant and some you couldn't tell at all but the whole point is mind your own business. Why does what someone else is doing bother or effect you if it's not directed to you or disrespecting you? Newsflash ::::: Tim Hardaway just had all his clothes monogramed "I'm straight."

Oh he was just being honest and using his freedom of speech! Boo frigging hoo.. So by Tim Hardaways logic he wouldve lovved to live in a time when black people were lynched by their necks because white slave owners were practicing freedom of expression. Hey they were being honest, white slave owners hated blacks so good for them right Timmy? Dumb homophobic scared little bigoted small minded idiot. Scared of a little gay man looking at him in the shower. Of all the people who should understand what gay people go through its a black person. THEY ARE NO DIFFERENT FROM YOU OR I AND THEY SHOULD HAVE ALL THE RIGHTS WE HAVE! They can't legally marry the person they are in love with and want to share their life with and LEGALLY they then cannot share health insurance through their jobs or life insurance. I could go out tomorrow and marry some hooker on the street and she could join on my health insurance and I could legally become the father of her 37 children. But gay people cant even marry the person they love. Effing sick! I'm glad Timface did say all of this though because it makes John Amaechi's point for him. Everyone who is writing that being gay isnt an issue anymore and gays make it an issue by hiding it read what Hardaway said. He would do everything in his power to have the gay player removed. In what job and on what topic could you say that about a coworker and think you have any right to #@*& think that?!! See, Timmy, you should look at some of the other people who think like you do. Well lookee here. We have the KKK who agrees with you Timmy! I guess youre good friends with them arencha!? Idiot!

It is sad to find out that some blacks are just as
bigoted and narrow minded as the rest of us.
Look like Martin Luther King Jr's dream has
turned from a promising dream into a nightmare.

If a white atheletic figure had made such comments every news agency would be camped out on their drive way. Harrasing their family, friends, and associates. I gave it 48 hours before
Mr. Hardaway's agent said his comments were
taken out of context, that he is a victim.

I don't agree with Tim or believe he is somewhat courageos for speaking his mind...But something good will come out of this ... Communication, sharing of information..learning and growing as person as a country as a planet. This is how we will grow to become better people. Hate/prejudice towards a human bieng/group is a disease that kills this process. And when your not growing as a person..well that means your dead. Theres good people and bad people that's it, anything else doesn't matter.
Without communication, sharing of information and growing we all would still be wondering how to start fire.Or we would be extinct.

Talking is easy...doesn't take courage to talk......

Yes, he is entitled to his opinion, free speech etc.it's the first step of sharing information. From this hopefully we will learn and grow

His comments were over the top, but he was telling the truth as he sees it. His comments also reflect what some people are thinking but afraid to say because it is no P.C.

I don't agree with he said, nor do I condone it.

The guy doesn't like gay people and he doesn't have to. But he needs to keep those hateful comments to himself. He probably knows what it's like to be discriminated against. He is just ignorant.

No, he actually verbally said that he hates gay people. He didn't say uncomfortable, he said hate. It was def. uncalled for. Especially the depth to which to went into it. He could have said he didn't like it, or that he didn't want a gay teamate, but he went on and on about it.

I don't know what he said, but I wouldn't look seriously for social commentary from some ex-NBA player. They dribble a ball around all day.
