I'm 13 and trying to improve my vertical leap. i play tonnes of sport, including basketball, which is why i want to jump higher. Though i already have i high vertical jump for someone who is 5-10 (i am about 1.5 inches from the 10 foot ring) i still need to get that bit higher to get the ring, then get even higher to actually dunk.

If you have an adjustable hoop use that. If not go to an elementary school and jump at the rim from just slightly farther than you think you can reach from if you keep doing this eventually you will be able to jump from that farther distance and then move back. Eventually this will help your vertical.

go to yahoo and type in "5 star jump program". its free and if you stick too it extremely effective. if you don't want to put in the hard yards (cos it will increase your fitness too) skipping for 20 mins a day with help with jump and co ordination)
