He wants a new 2 year deal past this year without even seeing him pitch this year. Just because roger clemens can do it is schilling in that category. i think roger is the only player with that right as far as pitchers go at this point anyone else have opinions on this matter.

Answer this scenario...
Two outs and a man is on third. The batter hits a lazy fly to right field which is dropped for an error allowing the run to score. The batter is charged with an "at bat" and is not awarded an RBI. The pitcher is not charged with an earned run.

Now, the same scenario... two outs and a man on third. However, in the case, the lazy fly to right field drifts foul and is dropped by the fielder (It will be ruled an error only if the batter subsequently reaches base) The batter then hits a single scoring the runner from third. Therefore, the dropped foul ball now becomes an error and the run is unearned against the pitcher. However, because the batter should be out and the error allowed him to reach base, shouldn't he be charged with a failed "at bat" and not be awarded an RBI?

I have found the way folks have reacted to the steroids issue downright hypocritical, so I am tossing out a question. And look inside yourself before you answer this. You are offered a pill that allowed you to make millions of dollars while doing what you love. The money offered could set your children and their children up for life.It allows you to recover from ailments faster. The drawback is 1) you MAY not live to see your 60s and 2)its illegal. Would you take it?

You have your choice of any starter ever to be on the mound to start the game, any closer ever to come in and finish it and any batter you want to be standing at the plate with two outs and the game on the line.

Who do you pick for each role?

Starter?
Closer?
Batter?

...and why?!

How do think the Braves will do this year. I think the NL East will be tight but I think they have a decent shot at the division or at least a wild card.

I always thought that if Griffey had stayed with Seattle and stayed healthy in the AL where he could play DH when he was aching, he would have been the guy to break Aaron's record. I don't think he ever would have mashed more than 50 homers or whatever, like McGwire did, but I always thought he had the longevity to break the big record.

Thoughts?

Personally, I back a few teams that I like, but I consider myself to be an all-around fan of baseball.

Just curious to see what everyone else thinks about this?
Also which is more important, backing your team or loving the game in general?

I'm rooting for the guy because I think he really helped raise baseball's popularity back in '98. Even if he did do steroids he wouldn't have been the only one.
