Eric Chavez? Are you kidding? No way. Great, he can field amazingly. So? His hitting is nothing compared to the likes of Miguel Cabrera and David Wright. Either way, he's still injured a ton and stinks at the beginning of each season. I say Cabrera is the best. His batting average is much higher, has a bit more power, and still has more runs and RBI, despite a poorer supporting cast. Still, his team could improve as the rookies gain experience and size. He's the best pure hitter in the N.L. outside of Pujols.

Even though David Wright is a very solid player i would go with Miguel Cabrera, For the simple reason that he's younger and he has to produce since he plays for a mediocre team, the Marlins. While Wright palys on a team full of All-Stars, so he won't have the pressure to produce as much as Cabrera would.

Miguel Cabrera has driven in over a 112 rbi's for the past 3 seasons on a team that has nothing! Imagine if he was on a winning team? His numbers would be insane.

David Wright is on a loaded Mets team. His numbers should look that good.

Switch the two players and teams and Wright's numbers will not be as good, but Cabrera's would be sick.

I understand what you are saying, but with Write, you will never have a pitcher yell at him for dogging it, the way Olsen did when playing the Mets

and he did dog it on some plays, so you have to take that into it. Also Wright has better D. at 3, more range better arm.

So I am taking Wright, but Cabrea would be right up there in the top 5 of all 3b in the league, it is very close

Oh yea, Wright just turned 24, and Cabreara will turn 24 very soon, next month,

and Reyes is going to be better then both of them

They are both great young talented ball players allowing us to forget about Rolen, Chavez, and the others. Wright you can play at 1B and 3B, I see him turning into a Jim Thome like player! Cabrera can do it all! He's not only comparable and better than most 3B but you can put in the 5 tool caliber type player comparing the greatest of all time "Willie Mays". He can play all outfield positions as well as the corners in the infield. I would chose Cabrera over Andruw Jones in CF! Give this guy some talented supporting casts and we'll all see the Marlins again in the Series, maybe 2008 or 2009.Cabrera has raw natural talent. He's the next but even better than Vlad Guerrero! Overall I would have to go with Cabrera! I'm a die hard A's fan, way back from the early 80's, and I love Chavez, but aren't you sick of his offensive stats that never seem to take off, and especially his SO!!!!!!

CABRERA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Definately Cabrera. His youth and the fact that he is on a young team that is not surrounded by turmoil only helps his growth as a player. Wright is good, but being in an environment as competitive and critical as New York can only make you begin to doubt and pressure yourself. This pressure hinders the appropriate growth needed to become a better player. Cabrera's numbers tell the tale of the tape.

I totally agree 100% that Miguel Cabrera is the most underrated player int he league. I would take him over David Wright anyday. Look at it this way, if cabrera was in new york the media would be all over his c*ck like they are with david wright.

I'd take Cabrera any day.
If you look at his numbers, he has been improving in everything. What I consider the most important thing is that he has been improving his OBP by receiving more walks each year. The way this kid's maturing tells us that we don't know what the limits are for his production.
I've just watched him closely this past winter in Venezuela and he has improved greatly at the field too.
I like David Wright a lot anyway.

Eric Chavez? Perhaps the better fielder of them all, but not even near them when it comes to offensive stats.

It's close, but I think Cabrera is the best in the game, he is gonna have some ridiculous stats by the time it's all said and done. I hope he continues his awsome pace and has a great long career, I can't believe how young he still is while putting up the numbers he has. He is a standup guy too who never raises any controversy... so refreshing!

Miguel Cabrera. He has nobody in the lineup to protect him but he still put up those numbers consistently. David Wright is still hidden in that lineup behind and sandwiched.

Defensively theyre a toss up maybe. but Offensively I rather go with Cabrera.
