Curt Schilling? Average pitcher who limped into history. Why is he still around? Because his ankle bled one day. He's been milking that ever since. He won one big game. Congrats. Time to move on.
Clemens has been consistently winning big games, striking out tons of batters for a long time. He's got more gas left, too.

Schilling has always been media savvy and he even calls into sports radio talk shows in Boston so I don't think he was using the media for a new contract. His 15-7 record and 3.97 ERA last year was alot better than the new supposed ace Josh Beckett's record of 16-11 and 5.01 ERA. I think Roger Clemens is just stealing money from teams by signing these huge single season deals and not even pitching until 2 months into the season. Schilling and Bernie Williams' situations show how teams have absolutely no respect or royalty for their veteran players. Is it any wonder why so many athletes leave their original teams for big contracts?

There has never been a bigger tool than Schilling. He is the most arrogant pitcher in the last 20 years - well maybe Clemens is. Both seem to think that since they have had long careers, they are owed something. I hope they both just go away. Forever...

the only reason curt came on weei to talk about wanting an extension, was that they were going to run a story about it whether or not he came on or not. they had some info on his discussions with the sox brass, and told him they were going to run a story about it. so he went on, so that no one would be confused with his intentions. there is nothing wrong with him using the media, mariano rivera is doing the same thing in ny.
and if 15-7 with 183 k's and a 3.97 era is washed up, i'll take a few more washed up players.

Schilling is a headliner. He's a media whore! He's only happy when he sees his name in lights. He's coming to the end of his career and wants one last hoopla before he fades away.

Schilling's new contract will all depend on how this season goes for him. He has to earn this and he decides his own future

Schilling is no Clemons, that's for sure. I didn't realise he was quite that old. He hasn't been very productive since 2004. He should just take whatever he can get.

he is 40...not 41, get your facts right. Right now he is their #1, even at his age. He should definitely be resigned
